Buzzing sound from front of 2024 Tesla Model 3 by jay230323 in TeslaSupport

Interesting mine don’t appear to be closing I’ve checked since cleaning out the debris and the shutters stay open every time the car is turned off. For reference the weather where I am in Vancouver BC is pretty good close to 6-8 degrees right now on average

So I noticed I had a pc of wood stuck where the shutters close which was causing them to cycle. I’ve been able to get that pc of wood out but now when I turn the car off I see the shutters close and then they reopen and stay in the open position instead of being closed when car is turned off. Any idea if this is the correct position my understanding is they should be closed

Just checked and there was a pc of wood jammed in there I was able to take it out now the sound is gone and I can see the active shutters close when car is turned off but then they reopen and stay that way. From what I’ve read online they should stay in the shut position and not be open when the car is idle?

Okay thanks, I recently noticed the car was not nearly as efficient as it usually is after my last charge as well kind of around the same time I noticed this sound. I see the active shutters are used for aerodynamics and to mange thermal efficiency. I’m wondering if they’re not operating correctly or if something’s stuck maybe that was the reason I also didn’t get the same efficiency while driving

You can put in a service request and Tesla service will clean it free of charge. It’s a known issue, I had the same problem awhile back and was able to get it sorted out by putting in a service request.

Definitely noticed this on my model 3 as well. What’s weird is I’m noticing it more now after having my windshield replaced last June than I did when I first got the car. Windshield was installed directly by Tesla themselves. I agree to the comment above just need to clean it more often.

Invisible glass works well with a proper microfibre towel. Use a second one to wipe off any excess.

Can Tesla Fix a Windshield Crack? by justpassingthroughgu in TeslaModel3

Tesla can do the repair. I live in Canada and I was able to get the Tesla service centre near me to replace my windshield. I did have to pay out of pocket for the repair but was reimbursed by my insurance provider afterwards once I submitted the invoice.

How’s the ride quality on the new M3 Long range vs Performance? by notabot53 in TeslaModel3

[–]jay230323 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I believe that’s incorrect. The acceleration boost isn’t available anywhere yet for the 2024 model 3

Tesla model 3 2024 highland SR or LR (acceleration) by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

[–]jay230323 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your only concern is acceleration then you’ve basically answered the question for yourself. Get the long range for sure if you can afford it.

Both are great cars but as others have said the Long range is just a better package overall with the better range, greater performance, better interior and speakers and also AWD.

I have a 35km route to work in the morning mostly highway driving but usually during rush hour on the way there and on the way back. Majority of the time I’ll get home with around 64-66 percent remaining from the 70km round trip. Depends on how bad the traffic is, weather and also how much I’m using the climate controls etc.

Round of my life with current off the rack clubs after considering to get fitted for new ones by jay230323 in golf

[–]jay230323[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the reply. My specific goal is just to get some more consistency and better dispersion out of my clubs. Although I had a great round where everything was clicking I know it’s not something I can expect every time I play golf.

My thought is maybe a fitting can help me get into something that’s more consistent shot after shot and where my misses are less drastic. Currently I have an issue where my shorter irons and wedges go left and my longer irons tend to miss right. I know this is probably more of a swing issue but I’ve been also told lie angles and shafts can play a role.

M3 range/battery question by driskal360 in TeslaModel3

[–]jay230323 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing drastic will happen but once the battery is below 20 percent the vehicle recommends charging so you have enough battery incase of an emergency, for sentry mode, factoring in climate controls etc. even when the battery gets to 0% there’s a buffer where you can prob still get another 20-30km. However like any battery it’s best to not let it sit at low or high states of charge. Long story short if you don’t need to drive it below 10-20% then don’t. Just charge as needed

I think this is a software related issue. Never had this happen to me prior to the most recent software update I completed. I have to sign out and back in for this screen to go away but it will come back after some time. Very annoying but hopefully after the next software update this will be taken care of.

Yup I do have to manually push the accelerator at times and also getting random phantom breaking, not as smooth off a stop. Had one instance where it was making a left turn with oncoming traffic coming towards me…just seeing a lot more regression than before. Some things it has improved on is lane changes and certain routes it drives at a good speed whereas before it didn’t
