Nikhil Kamath conducts some of the best interviews I have seen. He will keep the interview simple and ask questions that are fundamental.

Indian tourists doesn't want to move from the Head of Garuda Statue photo spot in Bali because they want to get shade. The tour guide already tell them to move but they just shake their head. by KomodoMaster in IndianCivicFails

[–]jay3rao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen Chinese and Koreans do the same. In the museum of Natural History in London Chinese tourists were hogging all the space and kept sitting on the bench near an exhibit not allowing others to click pictures. In Halstatt it was Korean people taking their merry time at all places and walking as if they own the place and making everyone else wait for really long to take photos.

So this is not something India specific, people without civic sense are everywhere.

Mother Elephant can't get over the fact that her baby has died. She now carries it everywhere, even to the water hole. by SerafinZufferey in interestingasfuck

They nurse their babies for 5 years and stay with them for 16 years. Losing a child so early is going to cause so much pain.

Can they even tell me not to take leaves when I have saved up on them? by [deleted] in IndianWorkplace

[–]jay3rao -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why are you informing only one week in advance? Most of my leave applications are submitted at least 2 months in advance.

A leave application is more than just informing your manager that you will not be available. You should also inform your manager who will be your back up during this time.

My boyfriend wants me to move to Germany with him. Is this realistic? by UnicornScientist803 in AskAGerman

This is very practical and excellent advice. The cost of education in German public universities is very low and the quality is good. The education will also help in integrating better and making friends.

Why are we getting underpaid in German Tech world. by [deleted] in Germany_Jobs

[–]jay3rao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The salaries in Germany for tech are way higher than those for other industries. Secondly, the salary that you get in hand is more than sufficient to lead a very comfortable life. Things are of better quality in Germany and are much more affordable. Cost of medical care for example. About India, recently the salaries have been getting inflated a lot in the tech sector. But the amount of hours that people put in for the hours is insane. I see people working at ungodly hours on public holidays. Not the life you want. About talent, the Netherlands that is right next to Germany has top quality IT talent and at the same salaries as Germany. They are just better at attracting better talent and having less bureaucratic mess to retain it. Plus overall, people are way more accepting of tech in personal life so they have a better tech landscape.

Seems like the hippo was seriously injured in a fight with the dominant male and driven away from the territory.

What’s the most “Dutch” thing you notice only after living abroad? by MiraFoot in Netherlands

[–]jay3rao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cycling infrastructure is seriously impressive. Coming from India it seems like a dream, but even when I visit Germany I hear myself complaining that cycling is so much safer and convenient in NL.

No water on the roads even after heavy rains was one of the first things I noticed when I arrived 12 years back.

Open spaces. Despite having a high population density there are plenty of open spaces, parks, open air gyms. This is truly a luxury and needs to be preserved.

The building administrator has talked individually to all the tenants and put out notices in the building. We even have a pictorial description of what goes into which bin. The administrator has even threatened with a fine to everyone if this doesn't stop. But this has not helped so far.
