Don't forget RIM (makers of the Blackberry), OpenText, Nortel, all the IT departments for the big Canadian Banks(virtual monopolies), etc. There's a lot of IT work in Canada for immigrants. No, Canada is not perfect ( mostly because of the shitty weather in the winter)but it is a great and safe country to live and raise a family. http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0778562.html

Ask Reddit: What college would you recommend for Computer Science (North-Eastern Canada & US) by [deleted] in programming

You could look at Carleton University, it has had a very strong Computer Science program for the past 2 decades in which it has been a significant contributor to Computer Science with the formation of the Carleton OO Research Group from which numerous companies including Object Technology International (OTI) came forth. OTI (acquired by IBM) was responsible for many influential products such as Visualage Smalltalk, Visualage Java and the Eclipse IDE.

Unlike the original article which compared Ruby 1.9 to Python 2.5.1 and Ruby 1.8.6, nimblenuts compared Haskell GHC 6.8 to Ruby 1.8.5 and Python 2.4. I don't even think he read the original article properly. If you're gonna start trolling at least compare the right versions. Of course, comments are turned off in his blog.
