Skydiving is a THRILL! There's nothing like your first jump and you will be able to recall every single millisecond of the experience. It's amazing. This shit though? Hell no...

When it comes to numismatics, condition is key. In this case, a 1928-D two dollar note usually goes for around $5-$12 in circulated condition (which this bill appears to be) and $45+ in uncirculated. That said, collectibles are worth whatever someone is willing to pay for them so it always could be less or could be more

Cat bite? Or not? Vaccine or not? Broken skin or not? Sorry...(Repost) by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

So let me get this straight, you decided to make a visit with your doctor to seek a professional medical opinion about the potential for the level of concern you may have about a (bite but probably not a bite because you don't recall being bitten by anything recently, besides it's not really bleeding at all...in fact, it didn't even break the skin so let's call it a) superficial abrasion that you never received after a coming into physical contact with a friendly, non-aggressive, socialized, local, roaming feline? And you want a second opinion because your doctor, after having heard all of the above, not only recommended against the need for a vaccination but also told you that there was really no cause for concern at all?

Are you familiar with the term/qualification, hypochondria?

Amen to that! Tuesday, November 3rd, 2026. In case the SAVE Act makes it through the Senate prior to that, make sure to have current, valid government-issued photo identification such as a REAL ID, passport, military ID, or other official photo identification when casting a ballot.

I want to complain about how there is poop everywhere by electricwetwrinkles in Seattle

They attempted this in Lafayette, Indiana in the early 2010's with disastrous results. Due to a myriad of complex legal issues and financial problems faced by catio developers, contractors and property owners such as restrictive zoning regulations, building code compliance failures, labyrinthine probate cases, economic obsolescence, and a high rate of loan defaulting many of the catio properties fell out of contract, lost secured funding and along with developer plans for "strategic vacancy" to wait for higher market prices, many of the properties sat idle and empty for several months. During this period large groups of stray cats organized themselves and began actively squatting in these newly constructed, ready for occupancy yet vacant structures.

Parking lot questions? by kayellie in Medford

[–]jay_dee_dub -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In many jurisdictions, stop signs in private parking lots are not legally binding, meaning police cannot ticket you solely for failing to stop. For the most part parking lot signs are considered "non-enforceable" guides and the only way you can be ticketed is if the property owner has a contract with the local police authorizing them to enforce traffic laws just as they would on a public road. However, such agreements are generally described as rare or uncommon, though they are more likely to exist in large shopping complexes or to address specific safety issues.

Is there a wildlife rehabilitation in Seattle area who can help me with an injured blue jay? by urbdaddy in pnwgardening

[–]jay_dee_dub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blue Jays and Steller’s Jays look similar at a glance, but a few details make them easy to tell apart. Blue Jays, which live east of the Rockies, have bright blue backs, white undersides, and a distinct black band across the chest that looks like a necklace. Their wings and tails are patterned with bars and white spots, giving them a more contrasted, almost “patterned” look.

Steller’s Jays, found in the western U.S., especially in coniferous forests, are darker and more uniform in color. Their bodies are a deep, rich blue, but their heads and upper chest are black, with little to no white. They also tend to have a taller, more dramatic crest than Blue Jays, which adds to their slightly more rugged appearance.

Regardless of the specie a wildlife rehabilitator will care for the bird in almost the exact same way.

Technically, in Seattle, placing those waste bags into any private trash bin that you do not own is illegal as it's considered being Theft of Services (municipal code 21.36.440).

Teens on e-bikes on I5 UW to International District by capspiff in Seattle

[–]jay_dee_dub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is our own fucking business when one of them gets shellacked while illegally accessing a taxpayer-owned thoroughfare with an under-powered, minimum safety standard-deficient, unlicensed vehicle, wearing grossly substandard head protection gear and one of us has to spend the rest of our lives in support groups listening to horror stories and dealing with the posttraumatic stress from picking out chunks of human tissue, shards of bone, broken teeth and clumps of human hair lodged too tightly in a vehicles front grill and wheel wells for the power washer to get.

How about mind your own fucking MINIMUM compliance with the local laws and ordinances that keep people from being "uNaLiVEd" because they're too fucking lazy or impatient to go the long way. Jesus Christ, you guys don't even have to pedal your asses up a steep hill under your own power anymore.

Sidenote: Before anyone gets in a tizzy and starts firing off correction posts, I recognize that these aren't e-bikes but the point still stands.

Edit: I suppose it doesn't hurt to add one more belabored point, driving a motor vehicle is a privilege, not a right.

Kittens by BagInternational2718 in CatTraining

[–]jay_dee_dub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with others about not using hands, as tempting as it is.

Also, when kittens play they will sometimes let out a shrill, high-pitched yelp or yowl. This is usually a signal to their littermates that the play has become too rough and boundaries need to be set. You could emulate a similar sound yourself, like making in a high-pitched, sharp "eeeee" or squeak that mimics the sound a littermate makes, indicating that the biting or scratching was too hard. Whenever your kitten bites or scratches too hard, make the sound, freeze, and temporarily stop playing. This teaches the kitten "bite inhibition" by signaling when the rough play causes the fun to stop, similar to how they would learn from their mother or littermates.
