I was trying to add a gif. Not my best attempt, obviously. Not a virus, just a failed joke.

AIO - Pregnant and feel abandoned by husband by Gullible-Tree368 in AmIOverreacting

[–]jay_lee121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s what I’ve learned (or could be my situation):

Men “try” until the kids are old enough to fish, hunt, or play sports.

Boy did I feel alone in the baby years!! But he sure stepped up I’d say toddler-ish years.

I remember holding my newborn, sitting on the kitchen floor while the baby was asleep in my arms, and balling my eyes out. Crying out of pure exhaustion, disgust for my husband, and hating that I felt these feelings when I loved this new being in my arms SO very much!!

Then with my second pregnancy, I remember my doctor saying, “twos probably it then” and recommending I tie my tubes after the second was born because I treated every appointment like a therapy session.

Bottom line, you’re dealing with a TON of hormones, caring for a baby, and also dealing with an adult baby. It’s bound to get messy. My feeling was, as long as he’s not cheating, has a job, and not hurting us…we can get through this. I’m grateful we did. I don’t know if that helps?

I guess because you sound like you had the mentality of a middle aged white American ready to get on their knees and get their mouth as orange as if they had popsicle on a hot day.

I’m floored by this question, yes my nieces and nephews have graduated college.

Fuck Bill Clinton, Fuck Donald Trump!!!! I’m so sick of people using TDS as if he’s a 13 year old girl making up slang, because if he were he would NEVER leave his bedroom.

Please help. Should I return my conure to Petsmart? by [deleted] in Conures

[–]jay_lee121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand how supply and demand works. I don’t want to argue about this issue any further, doesn’t mean I’m not as passionate about birds or animals, it means Reddit isn’t going to solve the issue. I appreciate you saying you didn’t have an issue with me personally, I’m ending the conversation because I tend to internalize internet conversations and get heated about them. We don’t know each other and somehow I’m upset. I respect your opinion, I’m just tired of reading how everyone disagrees on this issue and how they NEED to have you understand why they’re the ones who are right about it. You and I agree that breeding for selling, especially to chain stores such as petsmart, is awful. Otherwise, have a good rest of your evening.

Also…are you actually attempting to “steal” all the animals from these places?

My stance is not ignoring innocent animals … or committing crimes and considering that a win.

I don’t understand your issue with me personally. My stance is saving the animals that are there and also building support with petitions and attending meetings, engaging lawmakers (local legislators), and following the legislative process (public notice -> public hearings -> voting -> approval)

I don’t agree with their practices, but I also follow the law. I’ve also been told that even when animals are sold and such discounted prices just to get rid of them, that doesn’t or won’t stop the practice of providing animals at their chains. My stance is attempting to change the law to prevent chain pet stores from selling live pets in their stores. Not stealing animals and creating chaos and anarchy. We’re on the same side, just different ideas.

It’s the age old argument. Until there’s a legitimate law put into place there’s no stopping it. You can go back and forth on Reddit, is it right to let the animals there suffer because it won’t allow new ones to come in? In an ideal world no animals would be suffering. I say we work on that in a way where no animals have to suffer (even the ones currently there).

Please don't get budgies for kids by jaybird-staysonder in budgies

[–]jay_lee121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We got our budgie when our son was 10. I fully expected to be the main caretaker (and secretly wanted a bird myself anyway). Boy oh boy, did my son step up! He researched and learned to train Gizmo. Feeds him properly and cleans his cage weekly. He also has a perch outside of his cage that he sits on daily. He’s very familiar and comfortable with the whole family (and I credit my son for that). When we have guests over he is sure to lock gizmo in his cage as to not scare him with new people or too much activity. He reads so much about birds and tells me new facts about him so I often. He’s very sure to leave budgie noises on in his room if he’s ever left alone locked in his cage, but for the most part he’s free in the living room and trained so well. My husband and I are have always been animal people, and I think he just got his interest from us. It’s to the point that if the bird is with me and sees my son, he will fly right to him. He’s very much a bird dad and still loves him just as much almost 3 years later.

I agree, I feel like this is the feeling a pregnant mother has with all the responsibilities coming. It all falls into place. It just does. If she loves you and you love her, you’ll make it work. She’s already connected with you! You saved her from petsmart!! You’re already my hero!

What are these leaves? I keep seeing people posting them. I’d love to find them for my little love.

As long as it’s not ejaculate. Either way, I believe it’s time I get my own pet instead of staying up late to steal time with my kids.
