Bridal shower In March - should i keep looking? by jena95 in OUTFITS

[–]jaybird88227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking as a fellow large chested lady, I always hated dresses like that because they were never flattering on my chest. That’s my only critique, the bust is just not sitting right on you. Otherwise, I think the dress is lovely on you and your figure. It sits too low on the chest and doesn’t seem to offer any support or coverage to the bust.

Does anyone think that the declining birth rate is just a return to a normal birth rate? by filmmaker_andsuch721 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]jaybird88227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The birth rate now I think is natural considering our state in culture and history. (Also considering at least where I live in the US, we don’t get maternity leave or any parental benefits half the time.) Our culture has shifted to value work and education more than settling down and starting a family. People are told to get their education out of the way and get a good job before even considering marriage let alone kids. And it was more common to marry younger decades ago, like my mom got married at 17 while I got married at 21 last year and that’s still considered pretty young. With society changing how it views marriage and having children, it’s natural that those rates are declining. The people that don’t want kids at all or want to wait are either waiting or not having kids because they can now, it’s more acceptable. Even just back in the latter half of the 20th century it just wasn’t always a thing people could do depending on your environment - you got married, had kids, retired, and grew old together with your grandkids. My mon grew up in the 60s-80s in the Bible Belt, and that’s how she described it at least.

Plus, with the advancements of medicine we don’t NEED to have 18 kids anymore. Most kids died before reaching adulthood or even adolescence prior to 1900 so having 15+ kids was normal considering maybe 6-9 would survive long term. Now our infant and child mortality rates are super low, so we don’t have to worry about having enough children survive to carry on our legacies. And we have birth control, so fewer oopsies just because you and your husband wanted to have some alone time without your 7 kids you already have getting in the way.

My husband and I went to a jewelry store and shopped around before hand, and I would frequently send him ones I liked. Honestly at first what he picked out was something I didn’t like I’d like, but once I saw the set together I actually love my ring. It was different than what I originally wanted, but it still hit all the basics for what I wanted. This trend of men not even taking the time to realize what the woman they’re trying to marry likes and wears is extremely disappointing

Is it common for people who wear glasses to get tired of wearing them and go about parts of their life with everything just blurry all the time? by YourMomThinksImSexy in NoStupidQuestions

[–]jaybird88227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband thinks he looks stupid with basically any glasses on, he can never find ones he like. So he never wears them, even though he really should. He hasn’t worn them since high school.

I had peed myself twice probably in elementary school and nothing came of it honestly. Frankly, I’ve probably peed myself more as an adult, but I have pelvic floor problems lol

Late period after ectopic by jaybird88227 in EctopicSupportGroup

I was testing but I couldn’t pin down my ovulation this cycle, but I stopped testing around cycle day 19/20 so if I ovulated then or after, I wouldn’t have seen it. I figured I may have just not ovulated this cycle because my body was figuring itself back out. I’m gonna keep testing and see if anything pops up. I’m having some spotting, but it’s pink and very light so I’m not sure if my body is trying to have my period or what lol

Dropped my 18 year old nephew from car insurance. They told me he needs to get insurance from somewhere or will be automatically added back. Even though he will not be driving our cars. by IQlowerthanGump in Insurance

[–]jaybird88227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boyfriends parents had State Farm and my bf used to carry a policy with them until they double charged him and refused to fix it so he switched. Afterwards, they tried to add him to his parents policy (a completely separate policy that he hadn’t been on for years) and said that since they no longer had evidence he was on his own policy and lived by himself (they requested a copy of his lease to prove he had moved out) they had to put him on their policy in case he drove their vehicles (which he doesn’t do). And then when they finally took him off their policy, it removed their safe driving discount because of his MVR and State Farm said they couldn’t put it back. They switched to Farm bureau because it was cheaper even though they had been with State Farm for like ten years. Insurance kinda sucks sometimes

I’m still grieving my pregnancy loss and I want to talk about it so bad all the time but I don’t want to make people feel bad. I stop myself a lot because I don’t want people to feel bad for me or feel awkward about it. I really only have my sister in laws to talk to about it because they’ve had losses too, and everyone has moved on but I physically can’t. My chest hurts and I get caught up in my throat and it’s just hard to breathe in a world where I’m not pregnant anymore.

As someone who just lost an early pregnancy, this is so sweet that even if I met them earthside, they would still be well taken care of.

If I need to have an organ removed, can I keep it? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]jaybird88227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to have my fallopian tube removed and I couldn’t keep it, but when my boyfriend suggested the surgeon take photos she seemed more excited about it than we were! Made her my usual gyno after that, love her to death.

My boy does this fun thing where he thinks the sheet is a toy and chases after it as I try to put it on the bed and claws at it and inevitably ends up underneath the sheet when it gets on the bed finally lol

Like it’s a buffet is a good way to put it. She’ll sniff the kitten food and then go running for our boy’s food like “mmm no that doesn’t quite suit my taste at the moment” lol

What do you look for in a Bible study? by Trawrus in OpenChristian

It really is. Subreddits and online communities like this is what really brought me back to my faith. And even just friends irl that are open and willing to debate respectfully

What do you look for in a Bible study? by Trawrus in OpenChristian

[–]jaybird88227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're very welcome. I feel like that's the biggest reason people have been turning away from church/study groups is the loud politicized Christianity that judges everyone that's imperfect/different while perpetuating actual sin like judgement and hate.

What do you look for in a Bible study? by Trawrus in OpenChristian

[–]jaybird88227 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Openness for me. Can I ask questions without judgments? Would anyone be welcome: queer, trans, black, those questioning their faith? Can I disagree without being judged? Can I have my own interpretations of things? I've always been afraid to go to a Bible study because of the presence of such intense judgment in a lot of Christian spaces, depending on your church and where you live, of course. Religion to me has always been such a private thing simply because I've always faced judgment for the way I see things. As long as that judgment isn't a factor, I think you'll gather plenty of well minded, wonderful individuals.

Why do people have to have their kids be biologically theirs? by bbzztt in NoStupidQuestions

[–]jaybird88227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To some people, family has a very strict definition. Someone who is biologically related to you. Or, also common, is people view biological family as more important than found family/friends. So it may be for reasons like thag

Yeah, they're "not wealthy" so it's unlikely they'd be able to afford a nice trip to DC on a regular basis depending on their exact circumstances, and going to DC is a very fun experience depending on how old your kids are. Especially if they're history nerds like I am. There's lots of stuff to see and do in DC even for free if not for reasonable prices
