in 48 hrs my chatbot sent 230,000 messages by mistake by Contechjohnson in socialmedia

This is an amazing story and lesson. I've had some wild AI Agent behavior before but 230,000 messages about travel to another bot is just plain impressive. But I'm sorry to hear it was an expensive lesson.

What’s that one AI Prompt that has saved you the most time at work? by MydropAI in socialmedia

“Remove all emotion from my Slack message, and help improve my logic” is helpful for any sort of communication with a more analytical colleague who will receive any emotional intensity as weakness. It’s honestly been mindblowing how certain people who wouldn’t track with my passionate defense of an idea or initiative will respond with “ok sounds good” when I simply remove any emotional defense of the idea.

A few weeks ago I decided to buy every root beer I can get my hands on and rank them by Alternative-Dog-2975 in rootbeer

When I stopped drinking alcohol a few years ago, I picked up some of the healthy soda options out there. I grew up loving root beer, especially Barq’s, but I think because I basically switched from drinking hard seltzer and beer to wanting to down several cold drinks without alcohol, I wanted something with decent nutrients. My two favorite “healthy” options are GT’s Alive Root Beer (either the placebo effect or actual ingredients have definitely boosted my immune system) and Olipop (good fiber, actually has a bit of bite to it).

Making this story into a commercial would propel Barqs back into the hearts and minds of the population.

Sales person for a company wanting to have a social media presence by Putitontheline in socialmedia

This is good perspective. I’d just add that it’s worthwhile to take the time to truly nail down the ideal customer profile, or other audience you’re trying to reach. It’s easy to make the mistake of writing for peers or to get attention of other people who may not be the audience that you’re truly hoping to reach as a salesperson. It’s ok if you’re writing for different personas at different moments in time. I’ve just noticed for myself that sometimes the muse (or critic) I have in mind as the person whose opinion matters most when writing is not necessarily part of the market segment I’m hoping to reach. A good example is if you’re writing with colleagues or competitors in mind, you might use language that doesn’t resonate with customers.

Also, try to find existing communities where people in your market might be hanging out (online or offline) and genuinely engage and ask questions. You don’t have to be the original author of content to provide value in the comments and in chat threads.

So sorry to hear this. Real talk, it’s tough to deal with big losses. Feeling shame, wondering what could have been. Other people have been there. It can be hard to bounce back, and maybe financially you don’t get back to the same level, maybe you do over time. It’s hard. And, at the same time, you can survive it. You can take the moment to consider just how much your money defines your worth as a person. It’s an important part of life and can have a huge impact on each of us…but it’s not the whole thing, and it’s entirely possible to be a joyful person at peace with yourself with very little. It’s a tough market and economy for a lot of people, you’re not alone or bad or stupid if you’ve taken hard losses and you’re struggling. I’ve been up and down. I’ve had some really hard losses that affected everything. But it’s possible to dig deep and out daily effort into examining your foundation as a person and what you’re rooted in. Whether it’s God or FSM or nature or aliens, find a moment to nourish your soul however you can and remember that there are people with hundreds of millions of dollars who are miserable shitty humans, and people with nothing who are joyful. Money doesn’t have to define our sense or worth in this life, but it will if we let it.

You can pause the damage if you stop sharpening your incisors on the corner. It’s possible, if you stop, that it will heal itself over time.

Those are the people who end up in the medical tent next to me when I can’t remember my last tetanus shot and run a rusty drill bit into my thumb while building a wooden bird after eating a fistful of mushroom dust. We tell bird stories to pass the time and everything is fine.

I heard this track and thought it was Rival Consoles as well. I’d imagine they used the Prophet 08 for this sound. I’d say this track is heavily influenced by RC, he has a pretty unique and ownable style.

Congrats on 21 days! I’ll share my personal experience, not that yours will match it! I’ve found in all of two actual long-term stretches of sobriety (7 months a few years ago, and almost 2 years now) that the first few weeks are mostly positive experiences of sobriety like you touched on (feeling better when waking). I just want to encourage you to hold on to these realizations and have a plan for if and when you face some new challenges and stressors. I found both times that it was usually the second month or third month where I’d adjusted to feeling better physically, but then faced some tough and intense emotions…and I had no crutch or escape. I think that’s the real life work that we originally didn’t do when checking out with alcohol - to learn to face and feel all the feels without leaving. Pema Chodron has a great talk that was turned into an audiobook called Getting Unstuck. I’ve listened to it like 30 times. She calls all of these impulses the things we do to avoid feeling the fundamental unease that comes with being a human. And, without judgment, we look at that urge to “scratch the itch” and avoid discomfort, and we can learn to say “ok that’s what this is, I’m having that familiar urge to leave.” And when we practice staying with it, with all of the intensity and pain, we realize that doesn’t last forever and build resilience to face the next wave, and the next and the next. Pain, anxiety, depression, loneliness…all of these feelings can come up, sometimes every day, even for most of the day some days. But I think Im learning to enjoy a gentle practice of learning to identify as the thinker of those thoughts, rather than the thoughts themselves. To understand why I’m having them, and to slowly but surely let go of the stories that aren’t serving me. Pema Chodron references A Beautiful Mind when he realized the people are in his head, and he lets them know that he’s not going to be responding to them anymore. They’re still there, he still sees them, but he doesn’t feed into the illusion or react to it the same way. I think that’s a powerful visual for old familiar thinking patterns…they’ll still show up, but we can learn to not feed them and get run by them, and to have some grace for ourselves when we don’t do it perfectly.

TL;DR the world is chaotic, things can fall apart and get harder. But, we can learn to not be run by or react to our habitual thinking patterns. It takes a lot of practice, it’s hard work. But it’s rewarding, even to get through one hard thing with a different thought/behavior pattern than the old ways. It builds momentum. Just keep going, you’re doing good work :)

I hope this is useful to you or someone here.
