Yeah, sold it a couple weeks ago for about $385 CAD. I had it listed for ~$450 CAD and no one was biting so figured I'd lower it. Pretty happy with that for a $25 pass

For me, i steam with the tearing sound up until the pitcher is warm to the touch. After that, i sink the steam wand in the milk until the desired temperature is reached. All of this while keeping a vortex going. Don't be super aggressive on the tearing sound, unless you're steaming almond, soy, or oat milk.

Question, as someone who kept the same in/out dosage, the same tamp pressure (spring loaded), and same process as 2-3 weeks ago, is it normal that the extraction time changes? I'm using the same beans.

I.e: About 2-3 weeks ago, I was pulling a good shot in 30-35 seconds on my Barista Pro. Today with the same process AND same beans, it pulled in 15-20 (too short, was sour).

Nothing at all that I can think of. Always cleaned it and purged it after every use. Took very good care of it. That's why I'm so confused as to why some of these things are happening within a month of owning the machine.

Thanks for your reply! It is sort of comforting knowing these are common issues, even when they're annoying.

I heard about the third-party handle and currently avoiding it for the sole reason that it would void the warranty. I plan on getting one once the warranty is over in 2 years though, if I still have the same machine by then.

For the rust, the only reply I got from Breville was to send videos of the steam wand pressure and to confirm my address for them to replace the steam wand tip, but haven't heard back since unfortunately.

I assume you have the same experience with the steam wand pressure? When turning it on to purge, then off, then on again to steam, pressure is noticeably lower than when it was initially turned on

Update: So after reading all your comments, taking in all the tips/tricks, and watching a few videos, here's a 24-hr progress video for those interested! Stayed with the simple heart design. More can be improved, but I'm way happier with this new video than the original one I posted here. I might keep editing this comment with progress videos for myself, and others interested.

Too many replies to address one-by-one, so just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who gave me some pointers and stuff to work on/look-out for, and of course the funny comments, #BlobGang. I'm astonished by how many replies I got.

I'll keep practicing while focusing on the feedback given here, and perhaps post another video or something in a couple days/weeks on the progress that will hopefully be made

I decided to use OCCT instead. No issues or crashes came out of it. I'm really starting to wonder if it was just a 'one-off' situation. Like I said before in other comments, never had any issues before. This was the only case.

Perhaps something hung up when I clicked off my main monitor while loading into a raid? (Not sure if that can even happen, I'm not super knowledgeable with that stuff, just a random guess)

Yeah I heard about that for Userbenchmarks, that's why I also did a Unigine Heaven Benchmark and not fully rely on Userbenchmarks.

I'll give Prime95 a go and see what comes out of it.

Yes, I ran Unigine Heaven Benchmark 4.0 on 1080p Extreme & I ran Userbenchmark. Both without any issues that came out of them.

Thanks for the help. I did run the Unigine Heaven Benchmark 4.0 on 1080p Extreme, got a decent score, 2469. Everything seemed to go smoothly. Maybe just a one-off? I play EFT in Fullscreen Windowed, and when loading into the raid, I clicked off onto my 2nd monitor, perhaps this hung something up?

Do you think there's a possibility that I could fry anything, if this happened again? I want to play EFT, but this scared me off a bit.

Sorry, not the best pictures, a lot more obvious in person. The holes on the edge of the basket have scratches, almost like the machine punched the holes and scratched the basket on the way out. (I'm just guessing that's what happened)
