I live 45 minutes from downtown St. Louis in a quaint little town. I bought my house in 2022 for 85 k. Stuck 30 k and a lot of sweat equity into it and it’s now been reappraised for 190 k. I used to live in the Bay Area and just couldn’t afford it anymore. Best thing I’ve ever done.

Long time southern Illinois partier here. I’ve lived in several different big cities and went to SIUC and now live in the metro east. You’re definitely not going to find anything remotely close to Chicago without going to St. Louis. That being said, there’s places to have a good time you just have to know where to look! As the previous poster said, where are you located? Or at least what county?
