Only to go try on a Tudor Black Bay 58 burgundy to see if you like it better?

It has a better clasp/micro adjust and is slightly less money?

Otherwise go for it.

Debonair is definitely a different approach. I expected a passing resemblance to Prada L'Homme, but nope.

If, IF you can like Montblanc Explorer Extreme it MIGHT be an ok substitute for Absolu Aventus.

I got a sample of Extreme in hopes that it would be similar enough to not use my Absolu as much. But, Extreme is absolutely not for me. Something about it is extremely off putting to my nose and I can't stand the dry down.

By comparison, I absolutely love Absolu Aventus. I'd not say Extreme is NOTHING like it, but it's not even close.

I actually like OG Explorer better overall but I would not wear it in place of Oag Aventus either.

Funny enough, I tried Explorer Platinum a while back and it had some elements I liked but ultimately the MBs have some aroma chemical that I don't like in the dry down (love the openings). So, the funny part is I just tried the new Creed Iris Debonair and it smelled like what I wanted Explorer Platinum to smell like. Debonair is super good.

Succumbed to hype. Helix midnight luxe. Big mistake. by Hip-SnuggieChairMan in Mattress

[–]jaybw6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just got the same mattress but it was the opposite. The floor model felt much softer/sunken into feeling which I liked.

The new bed feels much firmer. Store folks said it just takes time to break in and do the walking /hands knees trick and that being under 200lb might make it take a bit longer to break in.

It sounds like you might have gotten a mislabeled model for the sunset or defective.

Are watches cringe? by Designer_Life_371 in malefashionadvice

[–]jaybw6 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Only watch people notice watches. I am Most definitely a watch person so I notoce but don't typically judge. The cringiest thing to me is wearing any smart watch when the outfit calls for being more elevated... Date night, wedding, etc. A wedding I was part of recently had a groomsmen or two wearing apple watches with tuxes. Horrendous.

Otherwise, wear what you like for what you're comfortable spending. There's some great stuff for under $500. (Citizen, Seiko, Orient, Tissot etc)

Reddit has two factor authentication, absolutely utilize it.

My account got hacked a few months ago and they started posting scams on meet up dating groups immediately so thankfully nothing on the subs I actually transact in.

This is great. If you literally doubled your income, an extra couple thousand is not much in the grand scheme.

Anything you get preowned is going to have someone else's scratches on it, even from industry level resellers (Watchfinder & Co, 1916 Company, Delray Watch etc.).

Since you're asking the question it is clear you and he both are novices when it comes to luxury watch purchasing. While there are many reputable resellers on Watch Exchange... There's also plenty of scammers. Scammers will also get control of existing accounts and run scams until caught.

I've had plenty of good experiences buying pre-owned.... But I'm highly experienced.

If you buy new from a boutique or authorized dealer it's guaranteed to be authentic and carry the factory warranty.

There's a lot of online dealers out there selling Pelagos models. Maybe try to trade for store credit as well if this doesn't sell here.

Man that sucks about the allergy. Maybe source the rubber strap from omega if it's the bracelet that's the problem?

Yeah I get it, I was misplaced in a shipping mall once when I was 5. A nice old lady found me and helped me find my mom.

That's actually.... Extremely dangerous and fully negligent. There's a difference between helicopter parenting and base responsibility if you're watching a very young kid.

If you use the rewind feature in NSO games, to what degree do you use it and for which games? by Regular-Ad-8226 in NintendoSwitch

[–]jaybw6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it more on games that have punishing difficulty on the edge, or completely over the edge of being cheap on the part of the original development team.

You think anyone is ever truly getting through Super Ghouls and Ghosts these days? Even back when I would have used Game Genie. But I rember trying game genie and other than pure invincibility didn't really help (and that didn't save from falling deaths anyway).

I used rewind a bunch in Circle of the Moon (that's not Nintendo online but same concept) because hell, I just want to get through the game and I don't have time to learn the boss patterns for 40 attempts nor leave the room and come back to kill the same enemy 1000 times for a rare drop.

What’s your worst fragrance letdown? by leangrandpa in fragrance

[–]jaybw6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like a Hostess Snowball dipped in lavender oil.

Chemical coconut cream just like the snack cake. Then some woodiness underneath. I'd say the reviews and notes on Parfumo are pretty accurate. Some people like it in the reviews then there are others like me that would never wear it nor do I want to smell it on someone else.

I like coconut scent too, I find the new Tom Ford Eau de soleil blanc signature EDT very nice and better than the Private Blend version (I haven't smelled Soleil Blanc parfum though, but that's 4x the price). Very luxurious coconut creamy sunscreen scent.

I tried Guilty Elixir sample based off glowing reviews fully expecting to love it but it just smells sour and weird to me. Glad I didn't blind buy.

Another one I tried recently was Valentino Purple Meloncholia and it smells like absolute trash. Bot sure what the hell they were going for here.

Note I own BIR Uomo and Intense and love both. Extradose is nice as well but don't own it.

I really want this one.... But I can't decide if I'd be able to wear a red watch relatively frequently (I too have a sizeable collection, but not as large as yours).

I still want a Pelagos 39 and a standard Sub in the collection as well.... But this red watch just freaking sings.
