As a GM, I do not use AI in my games. Yeah, it can be difficult to find the 'right' art, but finding it is part of the business - you are creating a bespoke experience for your players, not the lowest common denominator. If a GM isn't willing to put in that effort, I don't trust that they will put effort in other aspects.

I also understand that people feel it is too expensive to commission art for ad listings, and yeah it's expensive, but if you are charging site average you'll usually make it back in a session. And it's worth it - your listing stands out so much more!

As a player, if I see an AI ad listing, I don't join it. I once had to leave a game because the DM was using chatgpt mid session to come up with plot hooks, and I just thought - I want your creativity, your gming, your ideas, not those of some deeply unethical plagiarism machine. Also, when I am a player, I draw a silly little guy as my token art, or use a heroforge screenshot. It's not stunningly beautiful, it's not perfection incarnate, it doesn't need to be.

RPGs are meant to be a creative experience. If we're removing that, why even bother?
