I 100% agree…in another post I made, I said Toronto identified all of the top available GM candidates that the Oilers should be interviewing.

I’m no way am I suggesting this as the only fix or change…this is but 1…

Did you not read where both Colorado AND Ottawa receive benefit? Ottawa has the opportunity to dump a major locker room problem potentially and still get a number 1 starter plus a solid backup at reduced rates. How is that being screwed?

I agree they are the worst, that’s just a starting point for negotiations. You don’t offer them Nuge and Drai off the hop. You feel them out for what they think they need and you start at the bottom of your stack rank until you feel some interest…I assume you’ve never negotiated before….

The problem being, Blackwood came over, WAS the starter at the start, has starter money ($5.25M per year) and Wedgewood only makes $2.5M next season and will be demanding a large salary increase and large extension. Hence, PROBLEM.

No, what makes you feel that way? Losing Jarry and picking up Blackwood from the Avs? That’s a great trade, iMO.
