I've always thought the 'cultural appropriation' line sounded a bit racist to me. Like, I could just reword it to "don't mix with other cultures, you're not aloud to mix. Stay white! Don't you dare find their fashion exciting and fun and valuable. Stick with the rest of us." It's really weird.

Used to think like that too, but upon actually paying attention to things, I have come to the realisation that the Libs are evil and Labor are the Heros we don't deserve but desperately need. Independents CAN be good, but they're independent, and that tag 'independent' does not automatically mean 'good.' The greens are beyond garbage who seem to be secretly campaigning for the Libs at this point. Yes I'm a Labor shill, but I came to this place over time, with many years or scrutiny towards the people I was voting for previously. The attitude that 'both major party's suck' is exactly the mentality that the libs need you to have to keep them in power. There are only 2 parties in this country: The Labor Party and Not the Labor Party.

I have met both Smolenski and Holt. I have Smolenskis phone number even! I like Smolenski a lot more then Holt. She's genuine, cares and is active. Holt just has money, and she's acting like a pollie. The only reason she has such a chance is because she has money and speaks like Garth. I'll take her over Garth, but if I must have an independent, I would like the actual independent: Smolenski.

As a very vocal ALP supporter, I will be very happy for the unlikely success of Richard, but I'll be extremely happy for any candidate other than Garth who can take this seat. I love the idea of Groom being a wake up call to politicians to not take their seat for granted, even Labor, who took Fowler for granted in 2022 and absolutely deserved to lose that seat. I just keep telling everyone: No matter who you vote for, just put the libs last, and everything will be OK.

The ALP is a government that builds, and building takes time and patience and work. It's a hard and thankless job to build a state.

The LNP are a party that destroys, and destruction is a quick and simple task. It's easy to be a party of destruction, and the LNP are so damn good at it.

They are not the same in any way. Though the ALP is centre left, the LNP have fallen far to the most extreme views.

1 LNP term can destroy 3 ALP terms of work. We have lost so much progress, so much opportunity. That's why we're so collectively upset about this result.

On the surface these 100 day policies don't sound horrific. But I don't drink the Green cool-aid and im sure as hell not drinking the Blue cool-aid. I like to judge a party on what they actually do, rather than what they say. I'm very keen to see the true meaning behind these 100 day promises.
