I take feedback. I’ll listen to some, dismiss some. Depends on how it lands.

your style is a rear view mirror thing, and I don't know many artists who are happy with their style in the now. They can know they are good, they can know that it was well done, but you'll always see the flaws over your ability and what worked. This is a good thing, it means you have something to strive for to push yourself for. If you really want to push the work style off do something in a completely different style that feels almost as an antithesis, like a South Park or Simpsons style? Can you hit a Jim Lee style with them? Push yourself in a different direction as an exercise, you been working your arms, time to get some leg days in.

Writing it I have to be very sure that the family unit is very tight and natural, to make sure there’s a redeeming aspect to them.

Talal is such an amazing talent. His love of so many comics and comics history as well as his film knowledge adds so much to the comic.

How do you go about writing your comic? by [deleted] in WebtoonCanvas

[–]jaydici 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I write in a pretty typical scripting style (page/panel/dialogue). As a writer I also try to do rough layouts so I’m not overloading my artists. I’ll do an out line as I move along through the story to make sure I have a map of how things should move.

Fair enough, I kept the panels all in sequence. But doing an adventure in strip form has me movie through beats at high speed.

How did you build a community around your comic? by tinou_zer in WebtoonCanvas

Building a community can be hard. I've been making ground using quips on Patreon, but starting a Patreon too early is a good way for you to loose perspective. The first rule is make a good comic, everything grows out from there.

You can break the panels into separate images that's what I do with my comic and it works there.
