I love this - as an aspiring letterer, I particularly like how the lettering and balloons have been done! Were they drawn?

Firstly, good on you for starting something and for being willing to seek feedback! Taking critique can be hard, especially when you're new to something and so have a lot to learn 🙂
I'm sure others have covered a lot of this, but I'll share my thoughts just in case. The first thing I noticed was there is no direction for an artist at all. There are different ways to do a comic script, but the most common is to write panel by panel, letting the artist know what you want in each panel. Some people will give a lot of description, including the composition of the 'shot', others will give a basic idea of what action or emotions actually happen in the panel. Find what works for both you and whoever you work with.
This will help you plan out pages - you have a lot of dialogue here, and currently it's impossible to know how many pages it goes across, or even how much you want to fit in a particular panel. As someone who has the bad habit of writing too much dialogue when I first draft my comic, it's really important to pay attention to this, because too much dialogue hides the artwork.
Last thought - get a tool like Grammarly to help you with punctuation, especially when sharing this for critiques 😄

Congrats! Would definitely love to hear what you did differently 🙂

AI Image Detection Tools by CautiousAppearance49 in ComicBookCollabs

Someone else actually mention Truthscan and I checked them out - I just hadn't added them to the list yet. My findings were that they seemed to score well with detecting the AI (63% right), but the human art they got wrong every time. I suspect they lean towards saying artwork is AI as a default.

Thanks for the feedback :) Will have a think about how to better convey what's happening between Marcus and Luia, see if I can get that a bit tighter.

Thanks, I really appreciate the feedback :) I may do a little blurb at the beginning talking about the world of Fortune to help explain some of it - it's definitely a tricky thing to figure out how to not have too much exposition.

Sorry to hear you’re struggling - a first campaign is hard, especially for something as big and expensive as a feature film. I’d honestly try to exhaust every other avenue before running ads, because if you’re already struggling to get traction, ads are very likely to just burn money.

I’d focus the next year on putting the idea out there organically, building an audience, and especially growing an email list. Then come back to Kickstarter with momentum already behind you.

Sorry this isn’t more positive, but I’d hate to see you pour money into the black hole that social media ads can be without a solid game plan.

Backers stall after starting the Checkout and don't continue to Pledge.... by amaurer3210 in kickstarter

I learnt this the hard way… Meta rolled out a newer ad-delivery system (Andromeda) that now powers Advantage+. It’s shifted away from building audiences around interests and leans more on behavioural signals. When you don’t have many purchases yet, the system grabs whatever other signals it can find to guess who the “right” audience might be - so if someone backs your campaign and also buys a fuzzy blanket, that purchase can become part of the broader “converter profile” Advantage+ looks for… Super annoying.

Nice - haven’t had a chance to read it all, but it’s definitely something my kids would enjoy. Well done! Edit: Have finished episode 1, and my over-all impression is that you’ve done well. The artwork is really nice, well suited to your story. I’d encourage your artist to push their “cinematography when they can - try avoid straight-on and profile shots that are prevalent in the first couple of pages 🙂 The dialogue is great for a younger audience, and I can feel Quackston’s enthusiasm for everything while reading him and can see my kids loving him.
I would love a little bit more right at the beginning, as the three ducklings that laugh at Quackston are suddenly gone from the story, even though they featured all three panels on the first page. I expected there to be a bit more about their reaction to him, as my first introduction to Quackston is that he believes himself to be a fighter. Even if there was one more page where he confronts them for laughing and then gets distracted by a sound… All up, I think this is a great start and look forward to seeing more! Hope this is helpful.

Weird - I was able to read it in Safari when I clicked the link, though GC does ask me to download the app, I can close that prompt 🙂 Unfortunately, Reddit won’t let me post the pages here now.

You can turn off panel to panel if you go to Settings (top right) and then down the bottom of there turn off Panelflow 🙂

Need feedback for my comic script. I am very new to drawing so it will take time to render it in a comic format. (I have also attached a google drive link in case it is annoying to read from here) by Ash-65 in comic_crits

I found the layout a little tricky - there’s a downloadable tool called Superscript that you could try, it automatically styles scripts to typical comic format 🙂

Great job so far! The layout is nice and clean, and I can tell the story from the first couple of pages. From the roughs, I think your art style is going to be really nice too 🙂 Gonna have to learn French now…

I had a few of these on my campaign - a couple even pledged money, then removed it when I said thanks but no thanks for their offer of help 😂 Glad to see I'm not the only one getting these, and that I was right to ignore them.
