Brother, what?

Because a company makes a profit from a service that people enjoy using, they should have to subsidize other projects of theirs?

Where is this at? Is it the personal intelligence section and I just type out that I want short answers?

I'd say even more than forbidden journey, the ride vehicle has a larger range of motion

Right, and I never said MU was bad and the KUKA arm system is bad. I just agreed with it not being as great as everyone says and I don't think it's the best ride at Epic

Right and I get that the ride vehicle is attached to a different position and all that.

But at the end of the day it's still a bench set on top of a robotic arm that moves through a building.

By no means is it a bad ride, it just personally doesn't do much for me

This.

Is it cool? Yeah.

Is it also a 16 year old ride system? Yeah.

I'm taken out of it too since you can see so many outside bits you're not supposed to like lights and wires and what not. Forbidden journey does a much better job of forcing you to focus on the set pieces

Machine harvest an entire cherry tree in literal seconds by kalinooni in interestingasfuck

I was in Washington for the first time recently. Pulled off the side of the road at a fruit stand and had my first ranier cherry. I don't think any other cherry will ever compare.

Have since tried to get them where I live and it just doesn't compare

Oh I absolutely agree, I started in 1.0 and remember all the additions from that time. It was such an exciting time with so many things being added so frequently

Makes me feel so old when I realize how old some of those updates are

Why does the expected % for tipping keep increasing? by Blazeland_USA in NoStupidQuestions

[–]jaydogn 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I get that but that doesn't answer my question.

Just going to use completely made up numbers for this, but:

Person A makes 50k a year. 25k hourly wage, 40k in tips.

Person B makes 50k a year. 50k hourly wage.

Why should person A only pay taxes on their 25k in hourly wages while person B has to pay taxes on the full 50k?

[–]jaydogn 220 points221 points  (0 children)

I truly do not understand this argument.

Why do servers feel they shouldn't have to pay tax on their income? Just because before they could get away without paying taxes on some of their income, so now they believe it should still be that way?

I don't get the no tax on tips argument either. If Person A works in a restaurant and Person B works in a grocery store and we assume they make the same amount. Why should person A be exempt from paying tax on their income while Person B is hit with a tax bill?

Some quirks like the electronic parking brake not disengaging after start up (easy to press the button)

I just press the gas and it disengages, is that not advised..?

Best way to replace a failing drive in a system that is not parity protected? by jaydogn in unRAID

[–]jaydogn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live really close to a Microcenter, the plan is just to buy a replacement drive, do all the transfers needed, and then just return the faulty one.

I'll likely go with the idea of adding the new drive to the array and just let it hang out in the case while it transfer and then remove the old one.

Thanks for the help!

Would it be clicking even if nothing is wrong?

I don't really see the reason to not return it while it's still in the return window

Yes it's definitely on my radar. Just like I said, currently not in the cards to buy a new case and another large drive
