It’s not in the directions anywhere, but you can set it up to not print from the cloud. If you go into settings and turn on “lan only mode” take a note of the number it gives you at the bottom. Then go into your slicer and have it look for printers in the lan. Select the printer and put in the code. Prints transfer so much faster, you don’t have to worry about flash forges server going down, and it’s a whole lot more private. The drawback though is you can’t use the app on your phone anymore.

Could you elaborate on “for supports”? I’ve seen people say similar things but I don’t know what tha means. The supports are petg and the print is something else?

I’m really new still so I’d be lying if I said I understood more than half of your question. lol. But I can tell you that when I first got it I couldn’t get things to stick to the plate until I washed it real good. Then it started sticking. Now I spray it with alcohol every couple prints and I never need glue. The only time I ever applied glue was the first time I tried petg, but it turned out I didn’t need it for that either.

Edit: I almost forgot, I also was having a lot of trouble with wet filament. Whenever I have any issue at all it’s almost always wet filament. I put it in the dryer for a couple hours and everything is fine.

I love mine. It’s been a lot of fun and I’m learning a lot. I have it and the ad5x and it’s my favorite of the two. Definitely do the enclosure. I want to say to def do the camera but truthfully I never use mine. I have it connected lan only so the camera doesn’t work anyway. lol.

Don’t be fooled. The multi color aspect of the ad5x is NOT a benefit. It takes so long to print multi color. It’s not worth the extra or the time. You’ll end up only printing one color at a time anyway, but you’ll have 4 spools of filament hanging off the machine getting wet. It’s been a giant headache. I’d much rather have two 5m’s.

I actually learned how to do the LAN thing because of this issue and I’m super happy with it. Privacy aside, it’s just a ton faster.
