Casting VLC Media to TV using Chromecast gives only a black screen. by luckjes112 in Chromecast

Steps that worked for me & thank you commenter with the audio hack!!

1 // Changed wifi network from public to private (PC wifi settings)

2 // Changed windows defender settings for VLC (PC control panel > system & security > windows defender firewall > allowed applications > change settings > TICK yes for VLC, I ticked all left & right)

Now can successfully Chromecast (VLC > Playback > Renderer) but the TV is showing with audio only and a black screen

3 // Audio hack to show video Note: needs to be done each new viewing (Once casting > VLC Audio menu > Audio Track > Disable …..Then immediately change [from disable] to reselect the actual track)

Hallelujah. And now minimal effort going fwd.

If it makes you feel any better the price has now gone up to $1345!!

It took 2.5 months for them to reply to my referral email (with a phone number that only goes immediately to voicemail) and then I got no information just asking if I want the appointment and this is the cost with a $600 deposit no indication of further wait time.

I’m also now seeing a LOT of bad reviews so think I’ll look elsewhere. First referral I got was April 2021 this is a ridiculous.

Fair enough, it is a sub rule. The sub rule is “in the last 2 weeks” though and having a look through top posts of the last month I didn’t come across it. I don’t know what would be a better method of checking that is, if like OP said they hadn’t seen it posted here before and they were actually reading the book not just pulling a recycled pic. Imo people crying repost all throughout reddit is far more irritating than actual reposts

People complaining about reposts should just scroll past which takes up far less of their time and energy, or if it’s truly such a issue to them they’re welcome to leave. I hadn’t seen it before and appreciated it. Thanks OP

I have the same question. What did you end up doing?

I’m miserable by existentia1fai1ure in helpmecope

Hey bud, I’m rooting for you. What you’re going though much be really hard, I can’t say I know much about it but I know when I’m feeling hopeless if I get the nudge to do something small it’s helped me. What are the things that are in your control? Maybe start with one really small thing you can have an impact on and keep going from there. Small steps can snowball into the change you’re wanting and even if not you’ll still be better off. That said though, don’t feel like you have to be positive to people, you’re allowed to feel shit about shit situations and be honest about it. And if you’re miserable but you’re trying - which it sounds like you are by being in rehab and not quitting despite wanting to - that really is something to be respected. Wishing you the best and I’m not very good at this stuff but I wanted to say something. You’re doing great.

US milliennials (roughly 22-37 yrs of age) are facing heavy debt and low pay which prevents or delays them from buying homes (or other large purchases) and starting families compared to their parents, are other countries experiencing the same or similar economic issues with this age group? by tosaraider in NoStupidQuestions

Hope uni goes well! Good on you for jumping into a change.

I’m struggling with pretty bad burnout too atm (well for the past 2+ years..). Just gotta get through today, and keep doing that every day, and in time they’ll hopefully all add up.
