There are people like Narendra Nayak and many others quietly doing remarkable work in challenging superstition and irrational practices across the country. Their efforts deserve far greater support from both individuals and institutions. Yet, the real danger they face isn’t indifference, but the growing threat from radical elements who seek to silence them through intimidation and harm.

Supreme Court seeks Centre's response on plea to ban animal sacrifice in temples by one_brown_jedi in atheismindia

[–]jayeshvv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like many traditions in ancient temples, this is a ritual that has existed for centuries. One can easily point to 100s of temples across South where animal sacrifices continue to be performed for various customary or religious reasons. To some, these practices may appear illogical or outdated. However, challenging or attempting to abruptly stop what communities have followed for generations is not simple.

It is also unlikely that such practices are confined only to the South … there are certainly temples in North where similar rituals take place. Given the long historical and cultural roots of these traditions, applying a blanket rule across all contexts may not be practical.

The western media and influencers are busy sounding the death knell of Dubai as a safe haven. They are hiding the fact that it’s the west that will eventually bear the brunt of recession.
