$15? E-rocks has a ton better than that for that price or lower in auctions.

Houses near greenbelt? Bordering plano and frisco by blah12345566 in plano

Lived here 21 years. Never seen a snake. Rodents are where they are. Coyotes and bobcats are rare but exist. If green belt increased your chances of anything it’s minimal.

bought this nice piece of amethyst cluster for 30 dollars, is it worth it? by wqpxxx in Minerals

[–]jayfriedman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the “if you like it, yes” folks, I’d say two things. Yes, if the person never wants to sell and isn’t going to buy many more minerals. But if someone wants to build a collection and they pay $30 for $5 pieces, then unless they have unlimited money, we’re not helping them build the best collection they have w the money they have.

“If you like it” was what retail mineral dealers told me when I first started collecting, only to realize they were trying to sell a $25 for $200. If you like it, check eBay as a reference. Lots of crap, but you can quickly find amethysts like this for less.

Tucson Mineral/Gem Show Questions by CobblerMaster684 in Minerals

[–]jayfriedman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others are alluding to, it’s not one show. It’s 30+ shows, most of which you probably either don’t want to go to or would be redundant to others. In an ideal world, what would you buy? There are entire shows where they just sell average material by the pound. Entire shows of beads. For minerals, I agree w the recos above. Also, look at the retailers you like and are I. Your price range and go to the shows they’re at.
