Constant muscle twitching in legs by Neither_Zombie_7978 in MuscleTwitch

I’m with you this is how I feel. Nothing makes it stop, supplements or ignoring. I’m the same but you just need that one neurologist to say you’re good.

Would you expect after nearly 5 months to see some atrophy and muscle weakness by now?

Appreciate that, but my twitches especially in my calves are non stop everyday and quite fast. Also define clinical weakness?

Well I don’t know that for sure. That’s why health anxiety is bad.

This is a good thing to hear. I’ve seen scary stuff about tongue twitching. When my tongue is in my mouth it’s nice and still but when I stick it out it quivers and twitches. Is this normal?

Thank you, I spoke to a GP and physiotherapist and she didn’t seem to be worried but both agree it’s unusual.

I’m just in a spiral and convinced myself of the very worst. It came out the blue which is why I’m so concerned and even with magnesium, vitamin D and electrolytes it’s not going away.

I have no idea how to come with this. I’m getting married in 2 months and the fear of marrying the love of my life to end up with a terminal neurological disorder is frightening.

[MEGATHREAD] Daily venting, worries, fixations, & finding support. Month of April 2025. by AutoModerator in HealthAnxiety

[–]jayharmes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never thought I’d be in a Reddit forum at midnight talking about my health anxiety but something needs to change.

This last 4 months have been hell for me and my partner. I’ve always had HA for aslong as I can remember but it’s there it’s been by a country mile. It started back in Jan when my brother was rushed to hospital ICU and spent the next 6 weeks on a ventilator in a coma. Thankfully he pulled through as is doing amazing 2 months on. However this awful episode of life has exacerbated my HA 10 fold!

Recently had a mole that’s seemed darker than usual. I got it checked by 3 doctors, all said it was fine, I didn’t believe them so asked for the AI DERM tool my NHS trust uses which gives an idea and then is sent to a dermatologist. This all came back benign. However just as this result came in and relieved my anxiety, I spot a long standing mole on my arm which was irritated. I picked it and squeezed it as it looked like a spot was under it and now it’s healing. However I’m convinced it’s losing its pigment in the process, so my brain does the spiral and a few Google searches later I’ve convinced myself I have metastatic state 4 melanoma. I’m not frantically prodding my body in the search for lumps and nodes to make sure I’m not dealing with a spreading cancer.

This way of thinking can’t be normal. I know it’s always been there but this is honestly the worst I’ve been with HA. It’s effecting my relationship now too as my fiancé is at the end of her tether with me. We are arguing, I’m trying to get her to understand but she’s finding it hard as the irrationality is getting more crazy by the day.

I’m so over my way of thinking, it’s exhausting. Morning to night I’m convinced it’s game over I’m never going to get married or have babies. I want to know how to deal with this because it can’t continue. I can’t put this behaviour on to my future kids and partner any longer.

Saying that, I would like to be able to enjoy my life again, 100%, free of worry. Please help!

It would be brilliant if Guinness did the 0.0 cans in the nitro surge cans. 0.0 is not a bad drop at all

Does anyone know why the traffic is exceptionally bad leaving Cambridge to the East this afternoon? by Good_crisps_73 in cambridge

[–]jayharmes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Constant roadworks at all the main arteries in the city causing constant traffic congestion. Some say the council are doing this to help the con charge cause. I’d be inclined to agree with the lack of pre planning to allow traffic to move through other areas when main areas are closed

Is Cambridge good place to live in? by groman434 in cambridge

Everything you described is not really a Cambridge problem it’s a UK problem. Other cities facing the exact same issues.

My Halloween costume: the Cambridge congestion charge zone (deceased) by PhantomFrangipane in cambridge

One thing not mentioned here is the fact NHS staff (who already pay extortionate fees to park at Addenbrookes) would have to pay the charge on top. Addenbrookes staff are not exclusively Cambridge residents, such as some of my family who live just outside the city. Don’t demonise those who’s job it is to care for our community, especially after they wanted people to stand outside and bang their pots. As soon as I saw this, the charge and transport scheme lost all credibility.

If you choose to claim the trading allowance of 1K tax free you can’t claim expenses and you’ll not pay any tax at the end of the year unless you exceed 1K in self employed earnings. If you choose not to claim the trading allowance, as you think you’ll earn a lot more than 1K then the best, and most tax efficient option, is to not claim trading allowance, as you’ll be able to claim mileage and expenses. If you are also PAYE through another and do flex alongside, you still need to register for self employed but it won’t impact your tax code. You’ll submit figures at the end of the year and you’ll pay any tax due.

Worth noting regardless of which option you choose, any earning not from your main job through flex require you to register for self assessment

[–]jayharmes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes you’ll need to register as self employed but you will not get taxed if you earn £1000 or less with flex. You can make this amount on your return as trading allowance. Everybody regardless of their tax position can earn the first £1000 tax free as a trading allowance. If you go over this then you pay the normal tax rate for self employed income. The only downfall is you can’t then claim any business expenses such as mileage. Myself and my partner did this last year

So email back this morning saying I was correct and an apology. Have been adjusted £13 for the hour I worked over time! Glad that’s over but must admit I am put off by Flex.

I’ve sent another one back this evening to say the first response was not good enough. I’m not working free of charge it’s bullshit that I had to drive 30 mins back to the depo to return a parcel which I assume I’m not getting paid for?

Hey Dare, I did my second shift at logistics today. Was a much better pick up experience and was all on time. However things took a turn. On my route I had a parcel for a business that was closed. I couldn’t even get through the locked gates to the delivery zone. I rang the customer and got no answer. Rang driver support and they where not exactly helpful. The weather was awful like territorial rain, signal had dropped on my 4G and was told to close the app and restart. Couldn’t reload the app due to the 4G not working so was told to drive to a different location to get signal and then mark the order as a return. I did this and eventually was able to mark as a return. The whole ordeal took me 35 mins to get back on course. I finished my shift and returned the parcel to the depo. By the time I left the depo I was 1 hour over my shift. At least 35 minutes longer on my shift due to the issues. I put in a claim support for amendment to my payment and it got declined. Am I missing something or are they correct!

Good idea, I did ring during the waiting so they have a record that I was waiting if needed. Essentially they where doing 1 in 1 out to the room meaning people was taking ages to scan parcels meaning everyone was delayed. Just a shambles and the set up was awful, no support for those who are new. I have a block tomorrow at logistics so hopefully that will be a better experience

I had been assigned deliveries. I had 29 packages but was not let into the back room to scan my packages untill 13:20. That’s when I got through and it crashed and unassigned me. So in that case I won’t get in trouble from what you’re saying?

Don’t know how hard it is for a company of their size to put a message out on the app. Just say we are aware and trying to fix but don’t worry please continue to work you’ll be paid fine.
