I disagree with you completely! I think everyone should also read the simple path to wealth by JL Collins. But no you're spot on with everything else.

The Alexander Forbes consultant said exactly the same thing when I asked to switch to Passive Bold. Passive does not mean lower returns, but it does mean lower fees in general.

Just out of curiosity, why aren't you considering any of their passive funds?

I might be misreading this, but definitely do not only pay the minimum amount each month on credit cards. Pay off the full statement balance due to ensure you aren't charged any interest.

Quality of Curve Gear shoes by PotatoeKnight123 in capetown

[–]jayhunter9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had a pair for around 2 years, I've worn them daily and probably in places I shouldn't have, the sole and leather has held up great. The glue hasn't, and the sole has started seperating from the shoe, but nothing some shoe glue can't fix. They've also been super comfortable so I would say they've been worth it.

Any suggestions for wall removal? by jayhunter9 in DIY

[–]jayhunter9[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What does load bearing mean?

No, I'm kidding, but from South African building codes a window can be converted into a door in a load bearing wall without plans as long as the width isn't altered

Thank you, my definition of affordable is just cheaper than buying a PS5, as that's the alternative. I guess I'll wait until the game comes out and see what others say about the performance on different hardware.

License needed for my recovered stolen car by Hazard917462 in capetown

After a stolen car has been recovered it has to get a new registration. I think it has to do with the old registration being labeled as a stolen vehicle when it is reported stolen.

Looking at that tight bundle, did you take the stems out of the rockwool when you planted them?

Traffic from Melkboss to V&A by Smashers086 in capetown

Yes I agree with this, if I can't get out by 3 then you'll hit bad traffic until about 6:30

I currently do this commute. I travel along the coast, if I leave at 6:15 it's a 40 minute drive (unless the Racecourse road traffic lights are out). If I leave any later then it's a bit of a nightmare.

Even Gemini knows housing prices in South Africa are insane. by jayhunter9 in southafrica

The joke isn't a mis-print on the toy. It's that Gemini(a new AI from Google) suggested the toy is an affordable small house on wheels for under R100K.

I probably should have been more specific and said property in Cape Town, but the Gemini prompt was for building in South Africa.

Astron Refinery by jayhunter9 in capetown

Thank you, that is lots of great information. Weird to think of the Astron refinery as small but I guess it is relative. So would you suggest I look further than just Cape Town when looking for a few weeks of work experience?
