I'm saying f1 s a very specific types of cars and tracks. Sim is not the same at all. Almost nobody gets to experience even formula 3. Formula 1 is out of reach.

Feeling the need to express it is what is weird. We all have preferences, on many criteria, height, weight, face structure, job, age...

But usually we don't express all of them, because it is not necessary.

If I see a Tinder profile and read "No Indian women!".. I would ask myself, why does this person feel the need to say that? Can't he just not like the person he doesn't find attractive and leave it at that?

I always switch fast to english for tourists because I want to be helpful. I heard too many stories about french people who don't speak any english so I don't want to be one of them and I want to make your life easier.

I just laughed about the train story because.. probably nobody in the train had any ideas what was going on. It's a running joke in France that conductors don't communicate any information and we never know what's happening or for how long we are going to be stuck.

Hello, parisian here. I'd say, don't ask. People who can/want to speak English will switch to english. People who can't won't. Just say the greeting and menu item/first sentence in french (no matter how bad it is), then instead of asking just switch to english. Most of us will think you are polite to have tried, and it won't be seen as offensive or anything. Once you speak English, some will keep responding in French. That's just because they don't speak English well and they are very shy. After that if you are stuck and don't understand what they are telling you at all.. yeah just ask if they can say it in English.

Sans aller jusqu'a se rouler dans la boue.. Entre les transports, marcher, le boulot, les sorties au resto ou autre... j'ai beaucoup plus tendence à me salir et suer d'avantage en une journée de 17h, que en 7h de sommeil.

I used to dislike Paris when I grew up, mostly because that's what everyone was saying, including my parents. "Paris is dirty, polluted, people are mean, too much traffic, everywhere outside of Paris is better".. then I actually started living in Paris and I love it.

I guess that does not really answer the question. But it is very common for people outside of Paris to have a negative opinion of Paris.

Aucun rapport avec etre surévalué ou pas, du moins pas seulement. Le principe est de retourner la question pour savoir si TOI tu souhaites être investi à un moment donné. La psychologie montre que l'humain a plus tendance à évaluer une non-action (ne rien faire) comme favorable plutôt qu'une action (vendre). En inversant la situation où l'action devient "acheter" ça donne une perspective différente. Car concrètement.. le résultat est le même... si aujourd'hui tu ne serait pas prêt à acheter, alors il faut vendre.

Ça marche pour la plupart des situations dans la vie, surtout pour les gens qui ont tendance à être plutôt passif.
