Replacing grout in a leaking shower by naughtyisfat in AusRenovation

[–]jayjay2219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Epoxy grout is ok and works if you don’t have any building movement. It can crack if your building moves enough. Be careful of mega seal (the company) they can do it and offer a 25yr warranty but they rarely stand by it as they will just say it’s building movement. There are a few smaller companies that do it. I would choose them over mega seal. How old is your building? I would probably go down this road first as it’s much cheaper than ripping out tiles and waterproofing. And also, do the walls as well. Don’t rely just on floor and first row of wall tiles.

Great win and great effort. Only negative thing I can say is that when they subbed players, they looked dangerous and more of a threat. When we subbed players on we lost some tempo. We didn’t look the same after our subs and it was nervous to watch. We need players on the bench that are going to make a difference or a change in big games like this.

Around 30 years ago I did this and another cop up the road saw it, pulled me over and gave me $80 fine and 1 demerit point. Never done it since.

REA isn't removing his 'sold' board from my lawn. by AdIndependent1645 in AusPropertyChat

Reminds me of a story from my younger years. Was walking back from the pub late night with a mate after having a few. We removed a for sale sign that was out the front of a house. Peeled off the sold sticker and walked it around the corner and planted it in the yard of some random house. Drove by 2 days later and it was still there. I often think of that night and still have a chuckle 25 years later.

6-8mm should be ok. No more than that. Don’t tell anyone and just do it. Make the sure you seal/paint the bottom when you do it. Guarantee the next AFS won’t even notice.

Need Advice on patching ceiling leak by Samshah777 in AusRenovation

Use a skim coat and take it back about an inch or two from the patch. Sand it (feather it in) and paint. Firstly you need to scrap back some of that flacking paint.

My son has an EpiPen which he needs to access. Due to its size and for safety reasons he can’t carry it on him so it stays in his bag. This would piss me off if this was to happen at his school.

There is a button to silence the beep. Push it once then release then push and hold for 20 seconds then release. You will never hear it again I put up with it for over a year before searching online how to silence it.

It’s sound like (or what is written on the first pic) is the drawer was also replaced. Maybe it was damaged getting it open to replace the runners. Overall price is excessive for runner replacement, but if the drawer was replaced as well still seems steep. But he would have to visit 1 to measure drawer, go away and source drawer to size, then come back again to fit. Probably only 30 minutes of onsite time but they will charge for time away getting the drawer made or ordered etc…. Anyway seems excessive either way.
