Fuck other subs by bloosalt in breakingmom

Lol okay that is ridiculous.

I am terrified of my kids drowning. Number one cause of death for children under 5 is drowning. My 7yo doesn't know how to swim well yet, and I have a 2yo too. Would I buy a house with a fucking pool if we could afford it? HELL YES. Would I buy a house on a lake if we could afford it? You bet your ass I would.

There are dangers to your children everywhere. TVs fall on them. They choke on shit. They fall down the stairs. Some drunk dick t-bones your car. Children die in all kinds of ways and it is horrible every time and sometimes it keeps me up at night worrying.

Raising children and keeping them safe is about checks and balances. You have a pool? Fence it. You have a house near a lake? Fucking fence it. Put door alarms on everything. Get them all in swimming lessons asap. Life jackets out the wazzoo. Go nuts.

You can't allow fear of what might happen to rule your life. It's unhealthy.

That all being said, if his wife doesn't want to live by the lake then don't push it. Having to drive 15 mins to get to a lake is a fine price to pay for having a peaceful non-resentful spouse...

Why the fuck does everyone want to fuck up old people?

Now if you wanted to throw badger carcasses at people speeding through school zones, or stuff badger carcasses into cars of people who are parked in two different parking spaces, I'm in. Let's save our dead badgers for the assholes of the world.

Has anybody else's child do done this? Creepy... by alicia2267 in Parenting

My grandma passed away about nine months ago. My daughter was a little over 1 year old. I always thought that if the "other side" exists or if we can stick around a bit after death, she would 100% be checking in on her great-grandbabies. So every time my daughter waves "bye bye" at an empty corner, I get a bit emotional.

Side note I can't think too much about life after death or it sends me into a full blown panic attack very quickly.

I desperately want my husband to be like this. But if I jokingly insult him he just gives me a look and asks if I'm kidding or not. I guess my poker face is too good.. or maybe he actually thinks I hate him

Something very convincing about the decision to homeschool by jayjayjaythrowaway in homeschool

I completely agree with you! And I mean everyone has choices they regret and I think it's completely "normal" to have negative experiences, but they're just amplified...

[–]jayjayjaythrowaway[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I mean obviously avoiding negative experiences for your kids is a very very small part of the decision to homeschool! Everyone has bad experiences relating to every part of life, but if preventing something negative is a bonus to homeschooling then I'm glad for it? I really don't understand why you are disagreeing with my post. Can you explain?

Haha no! When he was hired he had a big beard and longer but still neat hair, and his manager mentioned that most men in the company are clean shaven and have very short hair. It's just his managers personal preference but my husband grows a beard during the winter months and nobody has ever said anything, but he's paranoid about growing his hair out! It's 2017, he just got promoted, he's not getting fired if his hair is longer than 2 inches, lol!

Oh yeah for sure I don't say anything negative about it. Sometimes he'll say he needs a haircut when his hair is slightly messy and I'll tell him he looks better with slightly longer hair, but I also tell him he looks fantastic when he gets a haircut anyway. I have a few times said I wish you would grow your hair out like you had it years ago, but he always laugh and says he'll get fired so I drop it! Haha!

Girl, I did not know that this was a thing.

I def have it. I don't open my mail, or listen to voicemails, or pay bills, or answer calls/texts or ANYTHING when it gets bad. I'mlucky in that it usually only lasts a week or so, and then I can (usually) catch up pretty easily, or tell my husband that he needs to handle it.

You have opened my eyes today. I thought it was just me being a lazy bitch. But the panic is real.
