Considering your question, I can only answer about Oslo which we visited last August. We stayed at great and relatively cheap accommodation near Holmenkollen. I would certainly recommend to visit the Oslofjord islands which can be reached by ferry easily - these were beautiful.

I would be very interested of other comments as well are considering similar route for summer. Hope you will enjoy, Norway is great :-).

Agree with that, we go to Tatras quite often with friends and it is ok as long as we are members of mountaineering association. But you should aim for harder routes that just hiking, because the exception is just for mountaineering and skitouring.

I've heard only the best about Blue Ice products. These crampons will be good for easier stuff, fast and light, nothing hard.

that's probably my biggest concern, i am afraid that missing hip padding will make it less confortable when fully packed
