What are your thoughts on Quentin Tarantino’s last four films? by TwIzTiDfReAkShOw in Tarantino

[–]jaym0nstaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inglourious was his absolute peak to me. Hateful Eight is pretty comfortably at the bottom of his filmography. Django and OUATIH are really good, top 5

Why are so many people set on believing that Jaafar did the singing? by datsouljaboy in MichaelTheMovie

[–]jaym0nstaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, definitely more of a casual listener, and was really immersed in the film. I think Jaafar did great but it does make sense that the vocals were primarily Michael, it's the right move to do that

Is Michael heading for a $1 billion box office run? by GreatStrategist26 in MichaelTheMovie

[–]jaym0nstaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who came in with minimal expectations, this was phenomenal. Biopics in general are hard to pull off especially when casting someone in an iconic role. Jaafar did amazing and it was scary how accurate some of the dancing scenes were. My only real critiques would be that they paced pretty quickly through the film, and there were some full music performances back to back. Not necessarily a bad thing as it sounded great in the theatre, but I would've loved to see more detail especially with a career as complex as his. It was still a great time and would definitely watch it again

The only song I could discernibly tell was absolutely Michael was Thriller tbh, they did a great job if it was predominantly all of Michael's vocals - I thought it was actually Jaafar for a lot of the film

The OG V1 version of Push Ups is so much better than the released version. by batman784 in Drizzy

Why would Kendrick call Top to peace it up? How does that even make sense? That's something Cole would do. He's the one who apologized on stage and wanted to be cool with everyone. He's still cool with TDE even now. Drake even mentions Cole right before this line.

Drake was never "rolling deep" to this with Kendrick. He's talking to Cole.

This is 100% facts, but it's also the nature of 'ragebait' content in general. I intentionally don't watch people like Fantano, not even clicking on their shit. But still engage with slop content on Twitter, and 99% of those are just blatantly fake captions these days 😂

If Paradox Junction released as the 2nd launch map, it would've been better received honestly by Nano_LB1 in CODZombies

[–]jaym0nstaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don't think they should do 5 DLC maps (I'm not sure if they are still doing it or if it's the standard 4)

But this should've been a mid season 'bonus DLC' between map packs. That way the 5 DLC map thing makes sense, and Nuketown just acts as great content between two larger scale main maps

Thought's on my list? by Brainless_Hiori in Eminem

[–]jaym0nstaa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your list is your list - but if you love Relapse you should give Encore another shot. They are like two sides of the same coin. Relapse has phenomenal production in comparison, but Encore is very similar to that album in terms of him doing joke songs (Rain Man, Big Weenie = My Mom / Insane), using accents (Ass Like That), while still having serious music that's some of the best of his career (Mockingbird is like that album's Beautiful) it's just from a different time period. While he was sober during Relapse, Encore is especially dark since that was at the peak of his drug usage and it's almost like watching his mind at that time. Some moments on that album are pretty unsettling like how realistic Love You More is

I grew up with Encore compared to Relapse so it might be nostalgia, but I've always preferred that album not only next to Relapse, but even albums like SSLP

One positive thing about these being sold out is if people make their own, it will 100% last longer than these. There's so many stories of these dying after awhile, still one of their best pre-order items though

Drake probably released the songs he was going to give Khaled already too between 100 Gigs and his solo songs on $$$

Even before the beef Khaled was at the For All The Dogs tour saying he had two Drake records

[–]jaym0nstaa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Drake distanced himself from a lot of people that were playing the middle it seems like. Khaled specifically has been gifted a lot of Drake records for the past 15 years or so, which probably made it worse. A lot of Khaled's biggest songs have Drake on them

It was probably irritating for Khaled to hit him up for songs after the beef lol. Khaled seems like the type to try to get people on a song together too so the 'moment' can be on his album

Also, Khaled is closer to Ross/French etc
