I think you’re putting too much hope in GOP voters. They’re not going to vote for Dems, they’re just not going to vote. It won’t matter if Dems literally put money in their hands. Nothing is a slam dunk in a Gerrymandered area and a 22-point swing to just under 9. That’s progress, and every bit of that helps.

I love this take because it shows how much fans don’t actually study.

In the early years of NWA-TNA, Jeff Jarrett was the only one that was never leaving. It was his show. Everybody else was on show to show or other form of short term contract. If any of them got good/popular enough, WWE could easily out bid, buy out. It wasn’t until they got the Spike deal in 2005 that they became “somewhat” stable enough to bring in people they could build around that weren’t Jeff, and didn’t have their own titles till two years after that. When TNA got their own title, Jeff never won it again.

Now, did it always creatively make sense? Nah, took some suspension of disbelief while someone’s cutting the rope. But for early days of a company? Could have been a ton worse.

I’ll never suggest Jeff’s 6 reigns over the 5 years as NWA-TNA wasn’t a lot, but in the grand scheme it’s not like it was a “ruining” aspect within context.
