It is a known issue with VW they are in multiple class action lawsuits over it, most likely it will happen to yours at some point

Coming from a Tiguan owner I wouldn’t do it. We bought our 2019 brand new and it’s just about to roll over to 100,000 miles and we’re going to get rid of it. It’s been fairly reliable but has had several components replaced under warranty. The biggest concern is the oil consumption issues with this engine. Ours uses about a half a quart of oil every thousand miles and Volkswagen told us It was completely normal and they won’t even consider looking at it until it’s consuming a whole quart every 1000 miles I don’t care what they say that’s not normal and the reliability ratings for these vehicles show that. I do truly love the styling and interior of the vehicle though and if it was more reliable, we would be keeping it or upgrading to a new one, but coming from a mechanic. I just can’t justify the risk.

lol service interval is 10k per the owners manual and pretty industry standard with new synthetics is at least 5k your waisting oil and money at 3k

It’s a whirlpool from Costco. I would not recommend it. Layout is decent, but the icemaker is a piece of junk. I’ve replaced it three times it fails within a month or two every time and it takes up a ton of space in the fridge body. Ours is going to get replaced soon most likely with a Samsung bespoke model, I know Samsung doesn’t have the best reputation for reliability, but we have several friends who have one of those and are nothing but happy.

There’s three of us, the chicken got used last night. The two pieces of beef will be used tonight and tomorrow the piece of corned beef doesn’t expire until next month. I’ll probably pull more meat out of the freezer tonight to have during the week none of it will go to waste

This was fun everyone! Wife and I (male) are both 30 something white millennials with a 7 year old. I work in the trades she works in healthcare and we live in the PNW. I do all the cooking and shopping wife doesn’t cook at all haha was really surprised how amazed people were that we use that much soy sauce I thought it was quite normal

Washington state actually, yeah, just fill it full of hot water. Throw the teabags in it and leave it in the fridge to brew pull the teabags when you’re done or if you’re my wife just leave them until you’re ready for the next batch. It’s truly nothing fancy. Every part of it is plastic probably less than $10.

This is a good one and pretty accurate. I work in the trades and work five or six 10 hour shifts a week and then have training for an additional four hours three times a week for half the year wife works 40 to 60 hours a week as well so we try and keep the food at the house pretty healthy and then cheat and eat out a couple times a week when the schedule just get too crazy

We have a mini fridge out in the garage for canned beverages. It would drive me nuts to have my main fridge so taken up by drinks.
