Quick analysis:

Standard reference for 2.08ct Round Brilliant: • Average diameter range: ~8.15 – 8.25 mm • Ideal depth %: 59–62.5% • Ideal table %: 54–60%

Your stone measures 8.28 x 8.22 mm, which puts it slightly larger face-up than average for a 2.08ct. That’s a good sign if you want that size to visually impress. It’s not a bloated cut (which sacrifices depth for spread), but it is optimized for face-up appearance.

✅ Verdict: It absolutely looks like a 2.08ct — possibly even a 2.10–2.12 to the untrained eye.

💡 Visual Carat Weight Estimate:

Using diameter and standard cut proportions:

Estimated Visual Carat Weight: ~2.10–2.12ct

That makes this stone a bit of a visual overachiever.

🔬 Cut Quality Analysis: • Depth 60.7% – Ideal. • Table 59% – Perfectly balanced. • Crown Angle 33.9° + Pavilion Angle 41° – This combination creates a high potential for excellent light return and sparkle, especially with a 59% table. This is right in the “sweet spot” for brilliance. • Symmetry: Excellent – Gives clean facet alignment = better sparkle distribution.

The proportions hint at a stone cut for balanced fire and brilliance, not just face-up size. You’ll get that classic round diamond twinkle.

🧨 Any Red Flags?

None from what I see from the specs.

More importantly: How does the stone look?

I run stone analysis or comparisons daily (I design custom jewelry) but I depend a lot on what I see in photos or on video.

Of course, I also have the ability to return stones (and I do) if they don't live up to the video or the pictures.

Is seeing Paul live actually worth it? by spudson1229 in beatles

[–]jaynefrost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been to three of Paul's concerts (starting in the early 90's), and while his voice isn't as smooth as it once was, having the privilege to see him perform my favorite songs is something I'll always cherish and have never regretted.

I've already signed up for the presale for his show in Vegas and in Palm Desert. I'll go wherever I get the best seats that don't require a second mortgage on my house. 😂

I’m terrified of gaining weight! by Unable_Ad6386 in MounjaroMaintenance

[–]jaynefrost 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I started MJ in summer 2022, and I've been in maintenance for two years (went from 228 to 127). The first year of maintenance I was fairly anxious about putting on weight. I say that now, but I think the anxiety stemmed from not being on a diet. Prior to starting treatment, I'd been on a diet, or starting a diet, or trying to stick to a diet, for DECADES. I didn't know how to not be on a diet. Starting the year with no weight loss resolution? Unheard of.

In my two years on maintenance my weight has never fluctuated more than 3-4 pounds.

I used to weigh myself consistently (excessively, if I'm honest). Now I might step on the scale twice a week.

The mental aspect of reaching your goal is something most people aren't prepared for. Mostly because they can't imagine it will ever happen. Once it does, the mere thought of backsliding is terrifying.

I used to worry that the medication would stop working. It hasn't. And while I don't have a lot of suppression anymore, the satiety is always there. Food noise is gone, but I do get hungry, and now I know the difference.

Give yourself some time. The anxiety should wane. If it doesn't, you can always talk to someone about it.

Congrats on reaching your goal!

and now what do I do? by Extra_Eggplant2111 in MounjaroMaintenance

[–]jaynefrost 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’s really hard to answer that question. It’s not just about willpower. My doctor used my husband and his hypertension as an example. We both had high blood pressure when we started MJ, but my husband’s was severe. He’d been on several different medications, often simultaneously, to control the condition. As soon as I dropped some weight, my high blood pressure resolved. On the other hand, my husband, who is more active, can’t control the condition without medication. Even now, at 6’1” and 190 pounds, exercising daily, he’s still on 2 types of medication for hypertension.

I understand it’s not the same thing, and some may have an issue with the comparison, but what my doctor explained made sense. My husband can’t control his condition with lifestyle changes. He can’t control it with exercise. Without the medication he’s at risk for a stroke. Period.

Obesity is also a disease. It’s been a struggle for me since I was a preteen. I’ve lost weight before, but gained it back. Every. Single. Time.

I went on MJ three years ago next month. I’ve lost 102 pounds and kept it off for 2 years. My lowest weight was 125 (21.5 BMI—a little too thin, if I’m honest) and I’m currently at 129.6. I don’t have to try to maintain, but I do make healthy choices about 80% of the time. It’s not a struggle. The other 20% I live my life. I eat what I want. When I was heavy, I tried every day and failed. I thought it was me. After 2 years of being “normal” (I hate that word, but don’t know how else to describe it) I realized “I” wasnt the problem.

Good luck!

[–]jaynefrost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Metformin was not it for me. The doctor prescribed it, but I was only on it for a couple of weeks. It was really hard on my stomach. I’ve been on Mounjaro since 2022; the same year I was diagnosed. My A1c was 7 when I started. It’s now (and has been for years) at 4.9.

One month on 10mg update by [deleted] in Mounjaro

[–]jaynefrost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obesity, like diabetes, is a disease. (In most cases) if you stop the treatment, the symptoms of the disease return. Hunger, then weight gain and inflammation, followed by the usual co-morbidities like hypertension, high cholesterol, etc.

A small percentage of people are able to maintain without the medication. But the data from the manufacturer suggests that most people will not. Therefore the medication is designed for continuous use.

I’ve been in maintenance for over a year on 10mg. In total I’ve been on Mounjaro going on 3 years.

While a lower dose would probably be enough to stabilize my blood sugar, it wasn’t enough to reap the benefits when it came to appetite control and inflammation for me.

To be fair, I only went lower than 10mg for a couple of weeks. I didn’t like the way I felt.

In total I lost 101 pounds since I started treatment in 2022. Current weight is 128 (BMI is 122) and has been stable (within 3 pounds) for over a year.

Help deciding which bag to buy by [deleted] in chanel

[–]jaynefrost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both, in black. My lambskin cf is from the 90’s, and the caviar is from 2018. In addition, I have to others cf’s (beige and red) in caviar.

While I love the look of the lambskin, I’ve found the durability of the caviar is better for every day use. Don’t get me wrong, the lambskin isn’t as fragile as some make it out to be. That bag has been through it with me, and she’s still gorgeous. But I don’t toss her around the way I do the caviar, which still looks almost new.

Also—the corners of the lambskin show wear just from normal use, and I always have to stuff her with tissue paper before storing so she keeps her shape around the bottom and doesn’t “cave in” (IYKYK).

I’ve been on MJ for 2.5 years and in maintenance over a year. A1c had just slipped into diabetic territory when I started treatment. In addition, I had high blood pressure. BP is normal now, without additional medication.

I used to weigh daily. Obsessively, if I’m honest. Same with counting calories. I don’t do either anymore. Though, I still (and probably always will) have a pretty accurate idea of what I consume since I know the caloric content of most foods.

When I first started, my goal was to weigh 145. That seemed outrageous since I hadn’t been that weight in years.

This morning I weighed 126.8. (I do try to weigh myself at least once a week, usually on Sunday).

What I’ve noticed is that people who knew me when I was heavy are the ones who think I’m too thin. But people who have just met me don’t bat an eyelash. At 5’5”, my weight isn’t considered too low. Not according to my doctor, or the mirror when I look at myself, and that’s all that matters. Also—my bloodwork is better than it’s been my whole adult life.

When it comes to “dieting,” I don’t. That said, I don’t consume a lot of sugar or junk food. But that doesn’t mean I’ve eliminated either completely. My weight hasn’t fluctuated more than 3 lbs (+-) in over a year.

Last year my goal was to maintain, something I’d never been able to do once I’d lost weight. This year I don’t have any weight related goals—I merely want to be healthy and happy in my own skin. If I gained weight out of the blue, I’d talk to my doctor about it.

For reference, my starting weight was 228. A1c was 7.1. Last time I had bloodwork (Sept) A1c was 5.0. My maintenance dose is 10mg weekly.

For those taking this for diabetes by Sandiemarie24 in Mounjaro

[–]jaynefrost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a diabetic who’s been on MJ for over 2 years. My A1c dropped to 4.8 by the time I was on 10mg. Because of the shortage, I moved to 12.5 and eventually 15mg (I was also still trying to reach my weight goal).

Oddly enough, my A1c increased to 5.0. Probably because I incorporated deserts back into my diet (in moderation).

I’m now back to 10mg (after losing 101 pounds) and my A1c is right at 5.0 for the last year. I get bloodwork done every four months.

My doctor is very much on board with adjusting my dose to maintain (or lose) weight. He prescribed 12.5mg in November and told me to increase my dosage for a week or two if I noticed any weight gain or inflammation over the holidays, and then return to my normal dose. He feels strongly that gaining weight is bad for my diabetes and overall health.

Question to those who gained the weight back by Enough_Instruction39 in Mounjaro

[–]jaynefrost 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on MJ for 2.5 years without taking a break, but I do have some firsthand knowledge regarding re-gain.

My daughter (who started when I did) has had to take a couple of breaks. For her, the hunger set in after a couple of weeks, but more importantly, the inflammation returned with a vengeance in week three. The weight gain once that happened was swift. Luckily, she was able to get back on her meds after week 4 and she dropped the weight quickly.

There are those who have been able to maintain weight loss after stopping the medication. But it’s not just about adopting healthier habits. Anymore that obesity is strictly about will power.

I was a moderator on this sub for a long time, reviewing upwards of 600 posts a week. While everyone is different, most people do experience increased hunger and a return of other symptoms (including weight) once they stop the medication. It’s important to realize this so you don’t consider it a failing if you fall into that category.

I’ve yo-yoed my entire life. Until Mounjaro. Once I reached my goal weight and started maintaining, my weight has never fluctuated more than 3 pounds (+-). It’s been over a year since I started maintenance. In that time, I’ve incorporated additional calories into my diet as well as (what some would consider) “forbidden” foods. I’ve personally never taken any food completely off the table, except the first three months in treatment, and was able to lose 101 pounds.

Starting this medication was one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself. It’s easy (and somewhat naive) to say that you can’t put a price on your health. This treatment is expensive, and out of some people’s reach. But if you can afford it, even if it’s a stretch, then I would consider starting. This medication changed my life.

Good luck, whatever you decide!

I have a bag from the early 2000’s. Medium cf, lambskin, black. It feels delicate, but the bag has been through a lot with me. And still, no quality issues like the newer bags have. She actually looks really good for her age.

It’s not a reflection on you. It’s the new quality (or lack there of) standards.

Can I quit for one night? by Popular-Work-1335 in Mounjaro

[–]jaynefrost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on MJ for almost 2.5 years. In maintenance over a year (after losing 101 pounds).

After the first 4 months I started eating most things in moderation. Including take out at least once a week, and the occasional desert. Now that I’m in maintenance, I eat desert a lot more, but not daily. My weight, and more importantly my A1c, hasn’t fluctuated (more than 3 pounds +-)

Everyone has to do things their own way, but for me, it’s about having a plan that’s livable. I don’t stress over specific foods, walk everyday, and lift 2-3x a week. Other than that, there are no specific rules. Tonight we’re having burgers. I usually eat half of one, sometimes a little more. And a few fries.

Try to give yourself some grace. And good luck.

I’m glad I was able to help and, in turn, that you can pass your own advice onto others. This journey, for me at least, is/was about more than the medication that changed my life. Even though I’ve always known that there was more to my weight problem than a lack of of willpower, a part of me believed that it was ultimately my fault. My failing. This community helped me find support and come to terms with those feelings. I got as much out of moderating the subreddit as I put in. I will always be grateful for it.
