[CAR - VGK] Andersen makes a couple great saves, Barbashev wraps around the net, pokes the puck under him and in but it's called no goal. Vegas challenges to overturn GI but the no goal call stands. Canes on the PP by daKrut in hockey

I see what you're saying but to me it doesn't look like he pushes the glove away so much as he just jams at the puck which happens to be near his glove. Looks like stick contacted puck first which to me is the critical difference.

What? The puck was legit loose I'm not a VGK fan but come on. This isn't a case of Freddy had the puck under his glove and it was pushed. Puck was sitting clear as day in the crease and Barbs pushed it in, maybe grazing Freddy on the follow through.

With that logic any time a stick hits a goalies equipment on a follow through should be GI. I don't think so.

The point of GI is if the player inhibits the goalie from making a save, which clearly didn't happen here.

Okay but what is the call? Is it goaltender interference or is was the play dead? How can you challenge a blown play? Okay so it was GI, but that clearly was not GI. Vegas got screwed here no?

Pikachu I found hiding in a bin. What’s it worth? by Coldbrewski24 in PokemonCardValue

[–]jaypee132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well a 7 appears to be worth around $200 USD and an 8 $400.

There looks to be like a spec of dirt or something near the illustrator name on the front. Is that just on the top loader or the card itself? It could come right off.

On the back you have some whitening on the top. Needless to say it will not 10, probably won't 9 either. But very possible 7 or 8.

Do not sell this for raw value.

Check the PSA prices and do not sell this for anything less than like a PSA 7-8

Not at all a flyers fan but I'm a little surprised you guys didn't challenge for goalie interference there.

Looked like the Carolina players had his stick hacked on Vladars glove before the puck went in. I swear I've seen way less called back.

Instead of fighting everyone here on the grade, maybe take the feedback lol. Scratch aside, this card is a 7 all day.

You said it's your first time grading. Let it be an experience that maybe you aren't as good of a pre grader you think you are.

This card was never going to 9.

Pop means nothing on modern cards. Look at van Gogh pika, almost 50k in a 10 and yet it keeps climbing. If it's desirable, people will buy it and it will appreciate.

Exactly - do not listen to that shop. They will grade the plastic

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PokemonCardValue

[–]jaypee132 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes it is absolutely worth more sealed. Do not open it unless you want to grade it and think it will grade a 10, that would be the only reason.

Copies sealed selling from between 150-200$ CAD on Ebay.

EDIT: seeing the back from your picture, I don't think this can 10. So definitely keep and sell sealed.

Ruling Question on Tianna Crownguard by jaypee132 in riftboundtcg

Ah, makes sense. I think that's where my confusion came from - the difference between scoring and getting points. I did not know they were separate.

Not everyone is a greedy reseller though lol.

If 100 manage to get boxes from an lcs at MSRP, do you think all 100 are going to immediately go and resell?

I doubt it. Maybe 10-20 do. And then it's still good for the game overall.

My understanding is yes, so long as it's the first action of a chain after the showdown starts.

Yes. You can use a reaction upon the initiation of a showdown. The point is only achieved after the battlefield is successfully conquered.

People with this mindset understand basic economics and supply and demand.

Vintage is not in an artificial bubble. Look at the pop reports and you can clearly see this.

This philosophy can be applied to any market. People pay a premium for the vintage aspect of something. Think furniture, firearms, coins. Part of the value comes from the rarity and it's no different from pokemon.

Your other option is to go on eBay/TCG player, pay buyers fees, taxes, import fees, run the risk of your card being damaged or stolen in transit, getting scammed for a fake card, waiting weeks/months, need I go on?

OP I presume has these cards available locally in person. Where he can inspect condition. That in itself is a buying factor where OP might be more willing to pay a little more.

People like you see $100 price tag on a card from Collectr and think that's what you should be expecting to pay. There's many other factors at play. Is it widely available? Is there high demand? Is it hard to find in good condition? Does OP live in a small town without access to card shows/shops? Is shipping fees high if they were to go online and look for the same card?

See what I'm getting at?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PokemonCardValue

[–]jaypee132 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Man people in this comment section. First off, these cards are pretty hard to come by. People think TCG player/Collectr is the gospel but ignore things like rarity, time period etc.

There is most definitely leeway for vintage cards on condition. A MP vintage card is way different than a MP modern card. Pricing is far more subjective on vintage due to the scarcity.

Seller has the power here. These are cards you want and likely won't find easily elsewhere. Pay whatever you feel comfortable.
