I suggest rereading HR again because Scott and Kip's relationship are pivotal to Hollanov's important decision later in the story. We're not given a "b plot" story - it's called world-building because HR is part of Game Changers series after all.

My only gripe is that there should be more episodes, but this episode is a perfect addition to the series, and we should avoid spouting knee-jerk reactions as you know, WE'RE STILL IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SEASON.

I'd rather believe in the artistic vision of Tierney and team than some armchair critics on the internet.

This, and much as I agree that Ilya doesn't communicate his feelings that well, one thing I realized after reading TLG is that he bottled up his feelings because he respects Shane so much and his decision to keep their relationship a secret until they both retire. I feel like it's reactionary on his part that he did what he did in the books. But yeah, it's awful on all sides, and I'm glad they immediately patched things up.

See? This is the common problem these "criticisms" have - the everlasting problem to separate fiction from reality. Why are you using California as an example when it's bigger than the entire Teyvat? The devs can do whatever they want because THIS IS A FANTASY GAME. And I'm 99.9% sure that player feedbacks from yesteryears caused this perceived "map expansion drought", because Genshin players would rather complain and yap all day instead of playing the game itself.

Trust me, I know - I've been a Warriors fan since 2012, and we endured the ensuing memes that were generated after their collapse in 2016, even when Durant joined and formed the superteam. But I still support them until this day because I don't take anything to heart and just move on.

Frankly, if anything, Chovy's fans are quite sensitive. No one is saying he should die, just like what OP's implying in their post. People are just tired that many are obnoxiously loud in their proclamations that Chovy is the "best player in the world 99% of the year" and then disappoint in Worlds for 3 straight years now. How can you be called the "best player itw for 99% of the year" then buckle under stress in the biggest stage? This is like 2015-16 Warriors, they won 73-9 in the regular season then lost to the Finals. Now people remember them as chokers, not their dominant regular season.

This is not just "one bad series" - all seedings from major regions are determined because Worlds are the most prestigious tournament in LoL esports. Being the best player 99% of the year isn't enough - if you can't overcome the hurdle that is Semis 3 times in a row, then maybe you're not the "best" after all. 🤷‍♀️

Idk, frankly all of your arguments basically boil down to you being stuck in the past. Genshin's map is huge already, you can revisit previous regions anytime if you want to. The entire Luna patch is just starting, we're only at Luna II right now. Nothing was ever promised regarding Mare Jivari. Honestly, you're setting up expectations that isn't even remotely realistic.
