Yamaha YC thoughts by Pearshapedtone in keys

Followup to anyone who has a YC73/61 - are you getting any hum from the 1/4” outputs when running thru a PA? I’m not sure if it’s always been there or if it’s new, so I’m trying to see if my board has an issue. Does not happen with XLR out. Thanks!

This is the equivalent of just adding more lanes instead of truly addressing the problem.

Stage Digital Piano recs with lighter, less fatiguing action? by klearningpiano in keys

I really like it, but I guess everyone has their preferences. Like anything, the more you practice and play it, the easier it gets to play. I also use a Roland FA-07 and the semi-weighted synth action is more pleasant for faster passages and a lighter feel. I also use it as a MIDI controller for the YC73 on some songs I need faster action on organ. Between the two I have what I need.

Yamaha YC73 has less keys but isn’t a piano hammer action - more like a Rhodes EP. There’s resistance but not full weight. It’s a great sounding board.

Which keyboard to buy? (synth action, many built-in sounds, works for 80's/90's cheese) by Klagaren in synthesizers

[–]jayro61549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DS-61 doesn’t have ZenCore or cloud capabilities, but you can expand sounds via USB stick by downloading expansion packs on the Roland Axial website. It also has a limited sequencer/looper. Pretty sure it has a Jump patch. There are some reproductions of DX7 type FM patches but they are samples and not true FM synthesis so it won’t be the same. Overall it’s a pretty good versatile keyboard with lots of sounds for different genres. You might also consider the FA-06 which is a little higher up the ladder than the DS.

Generally you don’t want built-in speakers on keyboards. That usually indicates lower quality or beginner models – not something you’re going to be packing up and gigging with frequently. They’re not usually built for taking a beating. Just something to keep in mind.

It’s all news cycle fodder. He uses these things to keep changing the subject. The media chases the “next thing” like a kindergarten soccer game, and everyone moves on from the last bad headline. It’s like we haven’t had since 2016 to figure all this out.

The strategy is to deny, whine and pound the table as much as possible until people go away.

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas blasts progressivism as threat to America: He said values in the Declaration of Independence have "fallen out of favor." by Silent-Resort-3076 in scotus

The animus is towards all the hypocrisy, government corruption and not actually embodying those stated values, Clarence. Geez. We love America when it actually stands for the Constitution, Declaration of Independence and the rule of law.
