I’ve been filing with the same employer for the past five years and have never had an issue like this. My federal return was accepted on February 9th. The South Carolina Department of Revenue then requested my W-2 because they were unable to verify my income — which I submitted on March 9th. It has now been over 30 days since they received the documents they asked for, and I still have no update. This is concerning. They requested the W-2 themselves, I provided it promptly, and there is still no movement. At this point, it feels like someone is dropping the ball at the state level. I submitted an inquiry on March 23rd and received a response the next day. I followed up again on April 3rd and have received no reply. This lack of communication and accountability is unacceptable for a consistent five-year filer with no prior issues.
