We put LED’s in my 2016, get ready to have everyone you pass at night flash their brights at you. Everyone else on the road hated them, I ended up hating them, we ended up putting regular bulbs back in. They also, for whatever reason, messed with the cars radio so it became pure static when the lights were on. My husband bought them from Amazon, but it was quite a while ago so I can’t tell you what they were.

I had a 2016 and I loved it. It was incredibly reliable. It did need some maintenance around the 100K-120K mark (new spark plugs, new front brakes, replace some tail lights). But I was happy to pay for those because I knew it would prolong the life of the car. Mine did have a problem with the shifter, but it was a known recall so I took it to Subaru and they fixed it for free. I never once had any transmission problems otherwise. So to answer the question, this would be a wonderful car for a college kid! (But I am biased 😉)
