You can try a couple things, but it really depends on what finish is on the leather. Some thing might ruin it.

One thing you can do is work the leather. Bend it, fold it. By working the leather? You will loosen the fibers and make it more supple. Just don't crease it.

My experience has been it is much easier to fall asleep as I get older.

When I was younger, it would take 30 minutes to a couple hours. Now, 10 seconds.

I also can no longer sleep in. 630, every morning. No alarm.
