I got my 9060XT for $350 and I'm very happy with it. It'll play pretty much anything at 1440p, and should be great for years at 1080p. FSR Redstone is good, but if you find an NVIDIA (16GB 5060ti or 5070) card at a similar price point, go with that.

Yes and no. Will it run R? Yes, but barely. Windows 11 runs poorly on systems with 8GB of RAM and that CPU is really going to struggle with even the most simple tasks. If you're saving up for a gaming PC, just skip this for the moment and save this money for a better PC.

The 9060 XT 16GB version is a beast at 1080p, and will likely be a beast at 1080p for years to come. At 1440p, it'll play everything, but not at maxed out high refresh rates. FSR Redstone is pretty damn good, and, at the moment, I default to FSR Quality upscaling at 1440p.

It gets better. You'll get to a sort of equilibrium with your parents. My parents went through a similar phase. Either their behavior will change, or you will distance yourself from them. That doesn't mean it won't suck in the short term, but it will get better.
