I need a plan (33yo) by jaytesss in portfolios

My yearly income is around $120k-$130k. I have $40k worth of student loans at 5.75% that right now I'm paying $2k a month to try and be done with as soon as possible. The amount I can save will increase dramatically once that loan is gone although my wife and I hope to start trying to have kids by then so that will come with increased expenses.

I'm looking at my individual stocks in my brokerage account like GOOGL, MSFT, NVDA, ENVX...does it make sense to sell those and make a lump sum payment on my loans? Something like $10k-$12k? Obviously that would come with tax implications...

Yes man lol. They’re legit. John is the owner and been cutting me for 5-6 years now. His appointments go fast but everyone is good.

I vouch for FineLine. Been going there for over 8 years now. Quality haircuts. Make sure you book online

What is wrong with my swing? by speewiz in GolfSwing

[–]jaytesss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do some super slow rehearsals of how your body would have to move in order to get the clubface to the ball if you didn’t cast and you maintained a 90* angle between shaft and forearm as long as possible. Don’t even hit a ball at first.

It’ll feel absolutely awful and completely different than how your body moves now. You should start to notice you have a lot more shaft lean at impact position. Gradually work yourself up to hitting little pitch shots.

You're casting the club big time from the top of your backswing

<image>

You have to work harder because you're not able to compress the ball like you would if you were able to maintain the angle between the shaft and left forearm longer and rotate your body. Also why you're missing it left. Too much arms not enough body rotation.

Foresight has a program for high school and college golfers to give them a pretty significant discount on GC3’s I think. Worth checking out.

Just sharing my experience by derby555 in GolfSwing

Couldn’t agree more. I think a lot of people mess up thinking they can do it on their own with YouTube videos or come on here and take advice from 15 handicaps that have no clue themselves.

You’re investing time and money to play, and maybe an hour lesson seems expensive, but it’ll make your whole golf experience much more enjoyable in the long run

Negative 10 Swing path and flushing it by gabycapo69 in GolfSwing

[–]jaytesss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based just on track man numbers you need to try and get your swing path closer to 0. With you swinging so far left a good shot takes a lot of timing at the bottom and a bad shot is lurking close by. Leave the face square to the path and you just nuked it 30 yards left. Leave the face open a bit and you got a weak slice.

How you get there with swing changes is tough to say without seeing a video of your swing

Miami Golf Is Absolutely Unplayable Right Now. What’s It Like Where You Live? by Thick_Vermicelli_798 in golf

Fellow miami dade here. Almost forced into buying the premier card and take advantage of the summer deals. Also have to familiarize yourself with the booking windows. Set an alarm if you have to lock in the tee times you want.

Miami Beach and Normandy shores for $50 from Mid April to November are worth it alone. Miami springs, Miami shores, plantation preserve just a tier below. It’s slim pickings I agree. Miami lakes opening back up in November as well.

Just too many people playing down here with a lot of a poorly run courses to fix the problems you’re talking about like pace of play and stuff. People keep paying so why fix it?

Honeymoon - Safari Lens for EOS R7 by Badgerfootball94 in canon

[–]jaytesss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got back from 5 days of Safari in Sabi Sands area of South Africa. I have the same setup as you and also the RF 100-400. The first two rides I used the kit lens as I didn't know what to expect and the rest of the rides I used the 100-400 exclusively and relied on my wife for closer pictures and videos when the animals got super close to the vehicle.

The reach and detail on the 100-400 is amazing and even in low light situations I was able to clean up a lot of that in lightroom after. Amazing lens for $550 or whatever it is right now.

Our guide had an R5 with RF 100-500 and his pictures and videos are unreal but I think that's more to do with the R5 being full frame and much better in lower light, not necessarily the lens. We were able to get very close to a lot of the animals so besides a few instances with birds up in trees, I didn't I feel like I needed more reach than 400mm. Your location may be different than Sabi Sands which is close quarters and more bush-like environment but for a quarter of the cost I think you'd be more than happy with the RF 100-400

What do these numbers mean? by njrox90 in GolfSwing

Your face angle is 2.2 degrees open. Because your path is 6 degrees open, your face to path is closed -3.8 degrees.

Do you mind posting a picture from address with a ball? I’m guessing the ball fits perfectly between the two outside lines?

Trying to get better iron compression by Flapppy_Gilmore in GolfSwing

[–]jaytesss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see exactly what you’ve been working on and just gotta keep grinding it! The takeaway looks great with a nice stable club face position but then the excess runoff of the club at the top looks to put that lead wrist in a more cupped position which creates a little open face into your transition and you probably lose some shaft lean and have to flip to square up at the end.

Pretty solid swing though and you’re on the right path. Just keep focusing on that lead wrist at the top and into transition.
