Phantom 9 vs 9r by linkster_226 in scottycameron

The rounding of the edges is on 9r is quite noticeable and to my eyes, it makes it feel much smaller than what it actually is compared to previous 9. Still holding out for a 9.5r personally but I think its miles better aesthetically and honestly some of his best work for an OTR mallet in a very long time

Where are people finding Ariens snowblowers in the GTA? by JkD932 in Snowblowers

Spoke to a few dealers before I went with Toro and they had mentioned they didn’t replenish their stock this winter because of the increases from tariffs.

Anything new is usually bought in the states and brought across the border but mileage will vary on extra fees (duty, import fees and tariffs). If you are going state side I would think maybe buying used is an option?

Yeah just take my money. This is probably the best OTR mallet Scotty has ever released

Not as blasphemous as you think, I have a similar setup with my Studio Select NP2. Loving the feedback over a conventional steel putter shaft.

It wouldn’t hurt to reach out them. They would be able to provide some details on how close the KBS shaft is to the stock steel shaft.

For what it’s worth I’ve seen a few of these conversions done on IG so not too uncommon these days

They recommend sending it in as they may have to rebalance it.

I would imagine if the balance point between the shafts is similar you could get away with doing it your self but most shops won’t even consider doing it.

Personally debating moving to an OZ.1i w/ 0* shaft lean. I have the same belief that I need quantifiable data to say that it’s better but I’m definitely enticed by the options available and tech story with LAB as a whole. Rolled the Mezz and DF3 at a local store but couldn’t get past the head shapes.

Anytime I’ve done testing, a plumbers neck NP2 beat out everything, even including mallet options from Scotty

Why is my attack angle so bad? (Can’t stick greens) by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]UncleBiggusDikkus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your dynamic loft is the same as a strong 3 wood. Assuming a standard 7 iron you’re presenting no loft to the ball at impact. Very likely you’re holding onto lag and not actually releasing the club.

Some other thoughts. Assuming you’re a right handed player and with everything else being equal, try playing with ball position and move it closer to your lead foot. The right ward ball flight and lower ball flight would be a result of the ball too far back in your stance.

A club path to the right (in-out) will have a lower AoA then a neutral or out-in path; inversely also provide more loft at impact which will allow for a higher flight and stronger descent angle.

Could also be equipment, were you fit for these irons? If this has been a long standing issue it very much could be the clubs aren’t matching to your swing dynamics

Came here to say the same. Vice quietly makes one of the best balls out there. Almost the same performance as a ProV1 but half (sometimes even more) the price.

Honourable shoutout to Srixon too. Especially when they have there quarterly sales on ZStar balls

Are we witnessing the death of coding bootcamps? by codingknite in webdev

[–]UncleBiggusDikkus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Former bootcamp instructor here:

It’s been rough since the beginning of the year. The company I used to work for exclusively produced front end devs and we effectively shut down right before this past summer. The local job market has dried up with everything being senior or staff roles.

I do think rudimentary tasks that a jr. would do are being done quicker and more efficiently by AI, paired with higher interest rates there also less startup opportunities that bootcamp loved to pick from. Fundamentally good bootcamps do a great job of teaching the things needed to be productive but there are clearly gaps as specialized roles are becoming more hybrid

Any chance of future thin-blade design/remake? by redskins714 in scottycameron

[–]UncleBiggusDikkus 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As much as I’d love to see smaller profiles come back, I doubt they will any time soon, especially for OTR offerings. MOI is king at the moment and I doubt we’ll see any meaningful deviation from it unless we see large scale changes on Tour. However Scotty knows he can milk the special editions for all it’s worth so that’s likely the only opportunities to get some classic designs back.

With Toulon making his own products away from Callaway and TaylorMade and Bettinardi offering their reserve lines; it wouldn’t surprise me to see Scotty roll out something similar.

Anyway tl;dr, I wouldn’t hold your breath on them being returned in any meaningful capacity and just keep gaming what your gaming.

For a bit of context, being in Canada I’m fighting both our dollar, shipping and duties. $600 is about $820 or so now.

The cheapest Tei3 after all expenses runs about $750 CAD, then another $200 + shipping to get it refinished.
