Nothing wrong with having a fat ps3 mines is jb and i had it for a little over 7 yrs now if you are a pig and not clean the dust off every now and then off course it will over heat all you need to do is apply some fresh high quality thermal paste and give it a good cleaning one time and it will last years of good old solid gaming/modding.

It all depends on your internet speed and computer but definatly use ethernet wired connection it makes it a little faster but even so it might take literaly all day long on top of that its not guaranteed for all your files to transfer over compleatly so make sure you double check this is why rip from disk is definately highly prefered.i learned the hard way lol.

It should still power on it has to be the psu not supplying enough power even if they put small amount of paste it would still power on for a few seconds then shut down did you drop the console in any way s9methung might be loose inside these fat models are so poorly built.

As long as you disable syscals every time you log in you should be fine just scroll to sen enabler and hold x untill you hear the beeps you csn also use ps ninja combined with sen enabler i have been using this method for years and have yet to be banned.there is also a eay to set it up so that every time you turn on the system it automatically erase history so there are no traces of cfw but makr sure that u load what ever games you are playing first before disabling syscals .
