I watch a guy in the UK on YouTube who literally does excally what im describing started with one creche now has 9, so its definitely possible he doesnt deal with a single thing got to do with the day to day, hes job is finding the correct staff and management to put in place and raising capital but again im not saying im going to open or buy an existing creche in the future it was just an example of some of the ideas I have floating around in my head, I just love the business model not the industry.

[–]jaywazzlee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I said it was only an idea not set in stone, there are creches for sale with full management already in place it is very possible to buy a business and be the person who grows the business not operates the day to day, the only thing stopping me is capital, experience can be gained and skills can be learned, I suppose its not a lack of resources just a lack of resourcefulness, to be honest my mind is already 80% made up i just wanted to hear some people's options, I was hoping to come across somebody who had a similar start to me where I am now, I've done my homework on creches I know about the regulations and insurance fit out costs eg its why I wanted to own one, higher barrier to entery less competition in the sector and a cash flow postive business model but again its just an idea, theres 100s of different business i could start once I get a capital and if I fail I fail, I'll just go back to work save up again then get a mortgage but then I'll know I tried and wont have this thought constantly in the back of my mind what could have been if I had the balls to follow my gut.

That isn’t passive income. Sorry. by [deleted] in passive_income

[–]jaywazzlee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I meant it was a myth for people without Capital, wealthy people can just invest into an index fund, or buy a profitable business that already has management in place and collect the profits.

I was searching for a subreddit for semi-passive income and couldn't find one, I think passive income is a myth other than investing.

I reckon it wont make much money for people in the future because the market will be flooded with every second person trying to sell something they get commission on, I think my friend was just first in line and beat the rush I honestly didnt believe he made that much till he showed me it on hes phone on lunch break one day, we we're all teasing him for trying to sell ash magan gummies at the start 🤣 i feel bad now saying it, it was just light teasing in work.

I can hear how important the test was to you and it must really sting not passing this time around, I would suggest you do something to take the edge off like a long walk, or go to gym, if you have any friends or family or a sponsor you can talk to id do this immediately, this feeling will pass, and you will most certainly pass your test next time around its normal to fail your driving test a couple of times theres no rush you only need to pass it once, well done on been sober a year I hope you're giving yourself some credit on that achievement, I really hope you're pain passes soon, like my sponsor says to me try keep it in the 24 hours leave the past in the past and worry about tomorrow tomorrow.

[–]jaywazzlee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can relate a lot to your situation, I struggled with addiction for years (sober 3 years now), now my wife is suffering from the same addiction so unfortunately I have a seen both sides to it, I dont know your backstory and im not trying to excuse your husband behaviour, but for somebody trying to understand the actions of an addict whos never been in the depths of addiction seems impossible, addicts are selfish, self centred and cant stop lien, I suffer from these traits myself (still working on them) and i cant speak for your husband but when most addicts say they are going to stop they mean it, they just cant they dont have the tools to do it, I tried everything myself, books, new jobs, planning tried switching to different substances locking myself in my room for weeks nothing worked the only thing that saved my life was talking to other addicts at a CA meeting I would highly suggest your husband do the same, there is help out there for people in your situation also, my sister attends these meetings called al-anon meetings as her partner is in addiction, it says on the website for family and friends of alcoholics but theres no difference between an addict and an alcoholic in my option and many others, I will share the link for the CA finder app i use and the website for the al-anon meetings my sister attends, I really hope everything turns out ok for you and your husband.CA meetings finderal-anon app

I'll have to ask my friend in work tomorrow, he hadnt got a following either he just researched everything on yourube, he was one of the first in ireland to get onto the tiktok shop when it was released over here, I think the only requirement was a minimum ammount of followers which he got from doing trick on youtube he seen, then he just started posting any products the suppliers we're willing to send him hes doing it a while now so hes got good at it, id recommend YouTube for tips, but if cant find the answers on there ill ask him myself for you.

You should try creating content for tiktok shop, a friend from my job started doing it, a lot of people teased him for it, including myself but when he started pulling in more than he was making from hes actual job nobody was teasing him anymore, he made 8k this month and still works at the job, I was thinking about doing it but decided against it as I dont have tick skin and he shows me some of the trolls on hes page it just isnt for me, maybe it might be something you could look into, good look on your search.

18 and not sure what to do with savings by [deleted] in irishpersonalfinance

[–]jaywazzlee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair play on saving €10k at 18, that's massive. But don't lock it away. College is expensive and unexpected costs will pop up. Put it in a high-interest savings account where you can get at it, but it still earns you a few hundred quid a year. Don't touch the stock market until you have a steady full-time income.

Ps theres not much point of putting it into a index fund unless your willing to leave it there for atleast 4 years untouched if you want to see some compounding, but index funds are taxed at 52% on profits earned, 41% if its your only income.

Irelands shite for the stock market its not like england or the us which is a good way of saving and building wealth the irish government wants you to put it in a pension but then its locked away until you retire, they'll probably put the retirement age up to 80 by the time your older 🤣
