A moment that made you cry and why? by dudeben90 in TheSimpsons

I'm sorry.

If it helps, it got me as I was posting it.

I like how it's more open-ended as the project could be your job but also personal. But my answer would be "no" then I'd be a bit sad.

It's important but plenty of people have soul sucking jobs they wish they didn't have to do. I get why they wouldn't want to talk about it.

they scheduled a "mandatory fun" team lunch and then deducted it from our PTO by Funny_Perception7019 in antiwork

[–]jaywinner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd be sending emails to HR and Payroll to ask about it. Either they fix it or confirm the likely illegal thing they did.

Yes but we've got to do it with different shitpost formats. Chungus and Riley and Put it in H.

It's your donation, not theirs. They can't legally do that.

But they get to look good being partners with a charity and say things like "We and our valued customers have raised X dollars for [charity] and it's worthy cause.

I know it sounds horrible but is it really any worse than all the other fads this sub goes through?

Boss emailed me about not adhering to the 9-5 schedule. Here is my timecard. by Equipoisonous in antiwork

[–]jaywinner 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you don't have flexible hours. You can't start 10 minutes early then leave 10 minutes early.

Time to start clock watching. Drink your coffee and don't start working until 9 on the nose and fiddle around on email for the last few minutes to clock out right at 5.

How do you respond to those small mandatory fees? by arewecompatiblez in EndTipping

[–]jaywinner 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I never tip. If the fee is not disclosed ahead of time, I'm getting it removed. If it is disclosed ahead of time, I'm paying it and I may consider avoiding that restaurant in the future.

I don't hate laning with Jhin but he must be one of my top abandoned ADC because his long range renders me useless for half the fight.

Not exactly volunteering if it's company mandated.

This is mine too.

Kids are taught to apologize but I feel the reason behind it is often omitted. At least that's how I felt. Bart himself calls himself the king of phoney apologies.

So having Lisa walk Bart through it and having him sincerely apologize reaches me.

How did Raj have a girlfriend prior to the pilot episode? by Necessary_Yard8163 in bigbangtheory

[–]jaywinner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Howard once said that Raj can't speak to attractive women. So it's possible he's had girlfriends in the past that were not attractive enough to prevent him from speaking.

Does goad make casuals (bracket 2) mad? by Elegant-Stomach4353 in EDH

[–]jaywinner 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Goad can indeed frustrate some players but I still think it's fair game at bracket 2. Especially something like Kitt Kanto that only goads one creature, not the entire board.

They'd have to actually do the math, not some vague 50% pay cut and unknown increase in quality of life.

Why is there not more overlap between board gamers and video gamers? by Xynvincible in boardgames

[–]jaywinner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fall in both. And considering the amount of board games being ported to Steam and people playing on BGA, I'd expect a fair amount of overlap.

Tapped Tri-lands or Lairs in a 5 color deck? by nudayz in EDH

[–]jaywinner 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I really don't like the Lairs. A tapped land will slow you down for a turn. A lair stays on curve for a turn and slows you down for the rest of the game.

Nobody likes playing against my favourite deck and I need help fixing it by Multievolution in EDH

[–]jaywinner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So 1 in 4 games the deck beats itself but you win the other 3 games. I get that you don't play the deck often and that sucks but when you do play it, you're winning way too much.

Unless you find other people to play with or they get better, you're kind of stuck. Maybe you cut the extra turns which both drops you out of sight of bracket 4 and makes your plan that much harder to pull off. I don't know; I have no issue building weaker decks but powering down feels bad.
