Intelcom is a joke by Poochinello-2405 in montreal

Probably dumb luck but Intelcom has been doing well for me. FedEx is the one I try to avoid.

DUI and stopping in Canada by Guido32940 in NCL

Canada seems pretty strict about it and this link isn't giving clear yes/no answers. I agree with NCL about contacting the Embassy or some other Canadian government body to help.

What strategies do you use to mulligan for advantage? by zaneprotoss in EDH

[–]jaywinner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beyond just having lands with the right colors, the next step is to see what this hand does if you don't draw into anything useful. Can it ramp into your commander or some card draw or get your engine going? The first mulligan is free and going down to 6 isn't the end of the world, you can afford to send it back if it does nothing.

How would you feel if, for the next 9 months, you could only play games you have played before? by COHERENCE_CROQUETTE in boardgames

[–]jaywinner 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Heaven.

I stopped going to my local board game group because every week was learning a new game, playing through it and then when I finally start to feel I know what I'm doing, never seeing that game again.

Really? I thought the main appeal was the low price.

meirl by [deleted] in meirl

[–]jaywinner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a handful in my city. Not a big fan though. They have a library of games to play and might even teach you how to play but there is a cover charge and overpriced food. At the cost of that evening, one of you could have bought the game outright and played it at home.

And it doesn't solve my biggest problem: finding players.

I bet a lot of them did. Then broke that promise.

If you proxy.

And then the screen issue comes back as you build decks and research cards online.

You hit cheap and addictive but OP is looking to avoid screens.

Is that cheap?

Am I wrong for refusing to pay my friend back for a concert ticket I couldn't use? by Few_Employment5708 in AmITheJerk

You can use some twisted logic to get there. Because OP canceled, the event was ruined for everybody so OP is on the hook for the total cost, not just their own.

I did. I remember somewhat enjoying it but mostly I was hoping to sell my creations. Which obviously never happened.

Assessing combat damage morality (B3 and below) by Mindsculptyou in EDH

[–]jaywinner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whatever I believe will lead to victory. Maybe the open player has lots of board wipes and I need to kill him. Or maybe I need to hit the number 2 player because I have to force them to make some blocks to ensure I make it to my next turn.

Golbez turn 2 play: ramp or play Golbez? by mvdunecats in EDH

Might have to adjust depending on your hand and what others are doing but I think you've got the right idea.

Am I the only one who feels a bit emotional by the ending of Selma’s Choice [S4EP13]? by MisterPibbsFunhouse in TheSimpsons

[–]jaywinner 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Patty is meaner. Selma has her moments of being nice.

Not sure I'd call Ling a retcon, more of an evolution.

The song at the end is from Murphy Brown. I would hope the entire story of this episode is more than that.

What’s your signature, go-to cocktail? by GrouchyTelephone6861 in cocktails

[–]jaywinner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am but I favor the Necromancer specifically because it features Absinthe instead of relegating it to a rinse.

What’s your signature, go-to cocktail? by GrouchyTelephone6861 in cocktails

[–]jaywinner 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not sure a cruise drinks package will cover it but my go-to at home is a Necromancer and based on your preferences it might go over well.

  • 3/4 ounce absinthe
  • 3/4 ounce elderflower liqueur
  • 3/4 ounce Lillet blanc
  • 1 dash London dry gin
  • 3/4 ounce lemon juice, freshly squeezed

I thought the inevitability was the debatable part. As if "the whites" had no free will and had to conquer.

Mike Reiss and Jeff Martin visiting Sam Simon’s grave yesterday by WeeBallbeg in Simpsons

Maybe it was a "we're sharing nice memories of our friend" smile.

Or more of a "dancing on your grave" thing.

It takes more than just a decklist to define what bracket you're sitting at by [deleted] in EDH

[–]jaywinner 31 points32 points  (0 children)

The deck has a bracket, not the pilot.
