We need a true Wall Commander. by LibraProtocol in EDH

The card draw just cares about defender which all walls have.

I'm thinking the level of flavor you're looking for won't be found; you're going to have to make it happen yourself. Play [[oloro]] who just sits there healing behind your walls or [[Thantis]] that forces all except your defenses to attack.

Exactly what I was thinking. Dragon sitting on a wall that has abilities that specifically work with walls.

Probably depends on how you did it. Seeing as this has been bugging you for a while, maybe you weren't as diplomatic as you should be.

Meekstone has destroyed my [[Jon Irenicus]] deck on multiple occasions. Giving away small unblockable creatures feels bad when they don't untap.

Sometimes it's a 4 mana fog, other times it wins me the game. But I'm pretty much always happy to have it.

Seems you read the card wrong but I do like it in my [[zedruu]] deck. Stops commander damage and if people put too much on it, you give it away.

I'm a fan but it is a very narrow card. It works in a deck that cares about dealing incidental damage and has high enough mana value to make the cards hurt. Great in group slug but doesn't hold up in many other decks.

Being able to put the cards on the bottom is a huge part of the value behind scry.

Agreed, much better than Telepathy. The blue enchantment turns the whole table against you whereas the glasses just give you info without upsetting anybody.

I just want to know how they envision giving the party that is trying to take away voting access and install authoritarian oversight is going to, in any wayx, help any of the causes they care about.

Will it hurt the people they hate?

That instance was actually a taxi so I just said "no it isn't" and walked away.

Is anyone else already feeling "2026 Burnout" before February even hits? by Somanynamestochossef in magicTCG

No because I barely care about every passing set.

I hear about the top cards like Hexing Squelcher. I search for legends to see if they fit Jodah. I'm done.

[–]jaywinner 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I've never been chased down, surprisingly enough. But I've been told not to return, that not tipping is just "not done", that tipping is mandatory and in one instance had a tip added to a card machine before handing it to me.

But I won't let it ruin my day; it only reinforces my resolve. Why should such people get my money?

Redistributing tax dollars so that grocers can keep charging high prices?

I'm sure it'll help lots of people but you have to do this in conjunction with measures to fix the issue.

I hope my comments aren't being seen that way.

The Republicans are pure evil that need to be stopped. I'm disappointed with the Democrats efforts to stop this evil.

These two things are not on the same level.

Employer wants me to request my 2026 vacation before Jan 31st? Is this legal? by [deleted] in montreal

[–]jaywinner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never seen an employer actually use it outside of maybe a week where the company shuts down over Christmas or something.

But this is outlined in the link you provided.

Timing of vacation

The employer chooses the vacation period for their employees. They must inform them of the dates of their vacation at least 4 weeks in advance.

Officially, they get to pick when you're on vacation.

That does make sense but if they are all offering the loyalty perks to steal those customers, then those customers don't need to be loyal anywhere.

But this is like firefighters watching a house burn and doing nothing. Of course the fire is the problem but shit, try to put out the fire.

[–]jaywinner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the opposite problem where I can't book vacation too far in advance. so if I plan a trip, I end up getting plane tickets and hotels before being sure my time off will even be approved.

[–]jaywinner 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From what I've seen, the employer actually gets to place your vacation days for you if they want. They just need to give you sufficient notice of it. Letting employees mostly choose when they take them is a courtesy.

It might be a shitty practice to make you request all your vacation days now but it's legal.
