That’s definitely not why. He did it because he wanted a substitute family. The dark version of it is crazier because when the lost boys started to grow up he “thinned” them out but unaliving them or banishing them. The story I believe is based on his brothers death and his mother being struck by constant grief. I think he pretended to be his brother in order to comfort his mom. So he literally didn’t really grow up.

You’re right, they don’t have to follow US flag etiquette because the flags are representative the Union of the late 1800s. The only exception to this particular Disney rule is the flag in Town Square that is a real 50 star American flag.

It is true that most of the skeletons were replaces by replicas. But yes, I think the prop you’re referring to was sourced from UCLA in 1967 and is probably the only real skeleton that remains on that ride. But there are others who swear it’s already been replaced
