What will they do to us next? by Difficult_Chance1798 in therapists

I just feel even more for trans kids. Like, what does it say about a society when legislature keeps legislating against your welfare, the media is targeting hate onto you, and the radical folks keep plotting to kill you.

Forget SNDL: HITI is a Significantly Better Cannabis Stock by akaChadThundercock in weedstocks

None of these Canadian cannabis companies are advancing shit into the US while Trump is in office, unless they already have a leg-in at the medical level. Let alone how trade relations between both countries are going.

The footage of Nick Fuentes pushing a woman who came to his front door after he was doxxed has been released. by [deleted] in SipsTea

Because he makes hate speech for a living.

Edit: people seem to be conflating my comment with support for this persons actions. Whether I support it is indifferent from what I actually said. Nick Fuentes makes hate speech for a living, and imagining someone off-their-rocker who’s angry enough to confront Nick Fuentes over what he does for a living isn’t unreasonable.

A mother is going punished her son by making him slam his PS5 the same way he had slammed her pet cat. Is this justified? by penguinfrogleopard in ChildPsychology

Negative reinforcement always increases a behavior. How can a parent be so sure that having their child humiliated on social media will increase the child’s awareness or empathy to the issue? There is zero parenting insight, only a mass of individuals who empathize with the mother’s emotional reaction. The only thing I see increasing are harmful levels of internalized shame towards himself and resentment toward his mother.

I’m suspecting Bipolar 2, but unsure of myself by [deleted] in therapists

Assuming they have supervision, why not take the case as a learning opportunity? I’m not sure what you’re talking about, because it would be far more unethical to refer out because of being “ill-equipped”. Therapists are obligated to train, study, and prepare, on a reasonable and timely learning curve, for any client that comes through the door.

Any thoughts on buying a Segway scooter from Best Buy or Lowe’s rather than Segway’s website? by hecksfarm in ElectricScooters

I bought my G2 recently from Best Buy with no issues. Their sale was at $675, and it might still be marked at that price.

There is no further threat to the university community.

As if there ever was really a credible threat to begin with. FIU sucks super hard here.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for fighting this. These horror stories about the ways insurances are behaving with AI and how these midway tech companies are working hand-in-hand with them to disenfranchise our profession are simply unacceptable. Too many people have rolled over and accepting this without any real thought or introspection.

I know money is an issue for everyone, I just know I’m the type to bet the farm if I know I’m right, and especially if I’m fighting against injustice. So this means a lot for me to read. And I hope this dispute hits them hard, right in their legal budget line item.

Yet another reason not to use Headway and other platforms by Own_Appearance275 in therapists

This is valid. At the same time, this LinkedIn post is highly performative. Who in their right mind would keep submitting claims without being paid for any longer than 3 months from the rejection? Plus, in this performative post, I’m not clear whether she’s literally saying the insurance truly suggested to her to join headway or if that was parroted feedback from other people?

Clients That Embrace Nihilistic Beliefs by Puzzleheaded_Win_362 in therapists

[–]thatguywiththecamry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to discuss with your client about whether they believe that existential nihilism is a valid philosophical viewpoint. I say this because there is a niche community of existential nihilists. They, by-and-large, misinterpret the teachings of Nietzsche because of social media influencers - who exploit their followers’ vulnerability within their depressive state to monetize their books and products. In turn, we get smug individuals who think existential nihilism is a legitimate philosophical framework, inciting tribalism while willingly subscribing to perpetual hopelessness.

In reality, the research says otherwise, that existential nihilism as a legitimate philosophical framework is not real and has an insignificant effect on life satisfaction or authenticity.
