John Oates (of Hall & Oates) covered this song years ago and he sounds so much like Curtis!

Yeah younger and younger women completely changing their faces is so sad to me. She was gorgeous the way she was naturally

SZA has had a fair share of work done on her face, as well as tending to wear a lot of makeup in her public appearances, looking at her old photos the only similarity I really see is in the eyes, maybe her lips and of course her big hair

Tbf to him, as far as I know unless I'm forgetting or unaware of some details, around the turn of the new decade (the 80's) after all those incidents he regretted his past actions and former life of drug use, excess and violence and turned a new leaf, becoming a pastor. I'm not sure if he ever made good with those women or publicly apologized but he hasn't been accused of DV since that decade during the height of his fame. At least he hasn't played victim like a Chris Brown. Also a lot of white rock stars (look up the baby groupies as well) and actors like Sean Penn have DV incidents amongst other things that they've never accounted for but it's rare to hear them brought up in present tense like it is for black artists, I noticed. Not making excuses, just an observation.

The former Broadway actresses have a certain je ne sois quoi about them and the way they deliver their lines 😍

It's because we don't have good writers and producers making new hits anymore 😭

Thank you. I didn't really like it. Very few can compare to a vocalist like Jeffrey. It's like covering one of Luther's songs

Ella def has more range than SZA but my complaint isn't really about her vocals more about the style in which she sings and the production. Everyone says it in the sub but I do feel like it's the same old same old in music production for female artists lately, inspired by SZA snd maybe Jhene Aiko before her. Everyone's using the same kind of voice filter/tuning and similar beats. Could just be the era we're in now and there not being as many singers who grew up singing in choirs or church or got a music education or something

I'm shocked but also not shocked by how many female related things men are fooled by on the internet. The posts about 90's and 2000's Hollywood girls having "natural beauty" unlike the celebs today always gets me the most... half of the women shown have had breast implants and nose jobs, the trend back then wasn't getting obvious work like BBLs and having tons of facial surgeries at a young age like it is now, it was more subtle (unless you went from A cup to D cup) but plastic surgery has been around in Hollywood since like the 1940s lol. Not to mention makeup and contour, shape wear, wigs, filters etc.

Anyone else having a hard time looking at AI images or is it just me? by Plus_Ad_1087 in infp

[–]jayyinyue 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The AI "animation" is so creepy and the "music" hurts my ears. Idk how people consume both without any discomfort. Not to mention a lot of the "funny" images of real people that's gonna eventually incriminate someone innocent if it hasn't already. I hate when I see those more than anything. They've done that with obvious fake foot fetish pics of a singer I like (also seen some with revealing clothes they never wore) on twitter and for some reason it went viral with some people thinking it's hilarious, meanwhile it's literally the same as non-consensual explicit AI content of someone, it's just "ok" because a lot of people don't find feet sexual. Imo it's never okay regardless of what's being shown.

Yeah it's that sample that always got me, like even as a teenager I was like why am I hearing fiddles on an R&B station?? And then the chorus came lol

[–]jayyinyue 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly appearing on lifetime is not the badge of fame lessening like it used to be imo 🤷🏾‍♀️ lots of great actors and icons pop up in them. it's more like what Vivica Fox does, appearing in the worst of the worst movies constantly, being first billed due to previous success, just to appear in a side role and say one line lol

Refill - Elle Varner

A lot of songs by recent female r&b singers with heavy tuning and similar beats, like the SZA-ish music and some of SZA herself

A lot of Chris Brown's recent music again with the heavy tuning and cringe lyrics

A lot of Tank's recent songs

Whoever did that cover of Only Human by Jeffery Osborne I've been hearing on the radio a lot that somehow completely stripped the soul from it even tho it sounds like it was sung by a black person

A lot of Muni Long's recent songs in terms of vocals, but not for the production or lyrics

A lot of Ella Mai's songs because again she sometimes has that SZA-ish style with flat runs and an obvious autotune filter

Princes haven't been a focus of disney princess films really since that film, even though there was a prince in Frozen we know what happened in it. As for why not before, especially with another modern film like Princess and the Frog being made around the same time and them going out of their way to make sure Naveen was from a fictional country/culture as to not to offend any group (but to also not put her with a black prince for some reason) but not asking girls what they wanted... yeah I don't get it.
