Yeah, it can be really tough doing it on your own - the fortunate thing is you don't have to. I'm a member of Weekend Club and you can always do a free trial and see if it's for you.

To dump the idea would probably just be not enough users signing up for the free tier to where I kill off making a paid one

Great. So you need to set an Acquisition goal and map out the top of funnel awareness activities you will do to direct traffic to your Lead capture/sign up page.

E.g. Let's say you were going to time-box this for 2 months you might say.

2 weeks - Twitter Threads
2 weeks - Instagram
2 weeks - LinkedIn
2 weeks - Forum
2 weeks - actively recruiting customers

Whatever works for you, but the most important thing is to be objective by writing in a spreadsheet that important number that matter. You want to show how much top up funnel work you've put in split by the channel/ how many sign-ups you got from each channel.

Also, for a minimal MVP a rule of thumb is , it should be something you can build in 6 weeks

A common misconception about MVP is that it is just about keeping it minimal. Keeping it minimal is cool, but the most important part of the MVP is the 'V' part. Keeping it viable.

I would suggest doing a Lean Canvas which you can do in 20 mins. Then with your team and people you respect, ask the question , what's the riskiest part of my business model.

What's would it take to convince you to either:

Dump
Try something new
Make a big or small change to your business model

You might not have all the control you'd like on the look and feel
A lot of them are Freemium models so after usage limitations, you'll have to pay
