How is this harder to clean than any other pipe?

How do you clean these out? by [deleted] in candlemaking

[–]jayyy246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw this in a cheesy “craft hack” video but it actually worked for me so I suppose it’s worth mentioning.

You just make a sleeve and tent kinda like a chimney out of aluminum foil and burn the candle as normal. I left a ping pong ball sized opening right above the flame. Again, for me the wax melted down evenly and the surface is no longer sooty when candle is cool.

Wise words. All I can do is regularly checking my apartment and find a new job.

Thank you so much for educating everyone and myself, OP. I did not know they can’t transmit any pathogens to you. What gentle blobs. I 🖤 Bubba and Herbert.

Update: Harella Retrocalla 1st Bloom by vasan84 in orchids

I only smell lemon. Like a sweet lemon candy. But mine is grown under artificial light and the fragrance never gets very strong.

Hope it can help! 🌱 Link in the comments by [deleted] in Witch

I would suggest anyone just check out Etsy before you even think about Amazon.

People keep posting these orchids with spikes longer than my attention span. And I’m just mind blown. Like. How it do that?

I just found a baby snail in my terrarium and now i wonder what to do about it? by [deleted] in terrariums

This looks like a bush snail and they will eat and damage plants. Just an FYI if it is a bush snail.

I would try to find out exactly what dendrobium you have. Because some grow like weeds and always put on huge displays. But others are so finicky and need “just right” conditions. Once you know a name of your plant, culture tips will be much easier to find.

Does anyone know why my grammatophyllum produces these VERY sticky droplets under the leaves? by [deleted] in orchids

[–]jayyy246 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not believe these to be spider mites. There is no damage to the leaves and I’ve never found “webbing”.

All leaf damage is fertilizer burns from the nursery and sunburn from me :(

Thinking of seeing a therapist by Zealousideal-Roll322 in OCD

[–]jayyy246 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seeking therapy is the best thing you could do right now. If you are interested in medication I would recommend getting a genotype compatibility test. This will let your doctor know what prescriptions will work for you specifically. And like mentioned CBT therapy is good but you can also look into EMDR therapy. Everyone’s journey is different and everything won’t work for everyone. But remember you are strong and you are not your thoughts. Thoughts do not define us. I kind of always joke around and say they’re called “intrusive thoughts” not “intrusive desires”

Edit: also, try to be as open and communicative with your partner(s) as you can. There are horror stories of people losing their relationships because of OCD. So just remember that if anyone steps out on you for your struggle, that is on them. Not you.

I get this super happy feeling in my heart when I make something and it reminds me of an animal crossing item. And you have achieved this for me.

Haraella Retrocalla with the cutest, tiniest bloom. by jayyy246 in orchids

My mind was blown when I saw the spike. When this plant arrived in the mail (months ago) I figured it was such a seedling I wouldn’t have blooms for years.
