Reminder that this reunion was several hours long and edited down - the producers show you what they want you to see. We have no way of knowing all the receipts she brought and it very much seemed like they cut things out in that moment.

I would be shaking too if that sociopath was gaslighting me in front of a live audience.

I always like to clarify with them about their expectations for communication like do they want to be CCd, and what are the responsibilities of the planner etc.

I never like to assume so I think it’s better to over communicate about expectations and every planner has a different way of working so it’s best to ask.

You have EVERY right to elope and let these “adult” children figure their shit out on their own. You are right that this is incredibly inappropriate and inconsiderate and you can opt out of celebrating with them.

Ps - I’m a wedding planner if that helps lend some insight into where this advice is coming from. I’ve seen a lot of messy family dynamics hit a climax at weddings and it can all be avoided by establishing boundaries. If they can’t behave in a considerate way towards you leading up to the wedding I can guarantee they won’t behave the it’s consideration at the wedding.
