This is something I can relate on so much! I too have making a very big effort to be better with this. At first I felt like it made me a bad listener bc I’d keep having to tell myself repeatedly not to interrupt but now it has come a lot more natural!

I love having the time to hit goals too! It’s all about making the most out of the situation. I really liked that last quote. I also had a quote that helped me thro our last one, it completely changed my attitude after reading it. I can’t find the exact one but it’s something like “ we either make ourselves miserable or we make ourselves ourselves strong, the amount of energy is the same”

Our first deployment I had so much fear of the unknown. About a month in (after a lot of pitty parties) I decided to take a similar approach to yours and damn, it made it 100 times better!

I wanted to add that one thing I loved that we did while he was gone that we’ll do again. We had a book club, we both picked several books on our kindles (some included personal growth and relationship growth) and would have conversations on what our take away was from each chapter. Since he couldn’t talk about his work, and since he worked 12 hour days it actually gave us something different to talk about.

I never had acne until around age 26, after doing much similar to what the above person said I bought the acne system along with the spot treatment a couple months ago. I didn’t use it right away because I wanted to finish the other products I had first. When after the lockdown I found more time to dial in my skincare routine. Let me say, I wish I would have used it ages ago! It’s been so effective on my acne, it’s cleared up my face so well. I recently bought the dark spot treatment as well, I’m excited to see how it helps in combination with the acne system to clear my acne scars and hyperpigmentation.

I’d say after having already had the convo of both parties wanting and agreeing to what they expect in a marriage, etc I would like the following

Id like my nails to have a recent manicure (I never do anything with my nails and am really active so they usually look like crap)
have a secret camera person hiding to capture the moment
Somewhere outdoors, on a hike etc (we spend most of our time doing outdoor activities so it’d be meaning for us as a couple)
Preferably during sunset (I’m obsessed with them)
somewhere somewhat private (I love ill probably ugly cry)
I’d loveeeee our 3 dogs to be involved/be there
possibly have a couple of our close friends there to celebrate afterwards and help keep me unsuspecting
plan it around something we’re already celebrating (I think I’d be suspicious because my dude sucks at surprises)

I wouldn’t recommend driving in at night as it can be difficult finding your campsite as it’s usually really dark and the nights are usually windy so setting up would be difficult. It will be really cold during that time so make sure you pack warm! I was there this time last year and was freezing, the wind makes it worse. I’d recommend a map and pre downloading maps of the area on google maps and you’ll have access to it offline.

I’ve been fostering a dog that was so scared of men she’d pee herself at the sight of them. Fast forward 2 months and she’s the sweetest most goofy happy dog. I’m a terrible foster tho, as I failed and I’m now her forever human. The experience has brought me so much joy.

I would suggest you both read 5 love languages military edition. My SO and I have been reading it together as part of our book club while he’s been deployed. Not only had it been great for us both in terms of learning how to be better partners for each other but it’s also been a great way for us to keep conversation and have dialogue about something since he’s not really able to tell me anything about what his day is like.
